    2. Yes, it's been proven Coach K has cheated. Read all about the Corey Maggette and Chris Duhon fiascos. It's as shady as it gets. Izzo is a better example. I have yet to hear something about him.

    3. I voted for this "Everyone knows BU breaks rules to make the NCAA tourney every year but can't prove it."

My reasoning being we have broken rules and gotten in trouble in the past, and still can't manage to get out of the middle. If we're gonna break the rules, we might as well make it worth it. You can't compare us to BCS schools in that regard because we clearly play by different rules. I compare us to our peers in the MVC - If we're going to do it, we had better start dominating like we did in the 80's, otherwise it's pointless.
everytime i try to say I love this guy because he isn't dirty....it seems like I realize he probably is...

if Izzo is clean....i would say he is the best college coach ever (in my lifetime)

better question IMO does Bruce Weber cheat? look at the last class and the next 3 for illinois......something happened....

W/ IL I believe it is called Jerrance Howard the difference maker man.

Personally I want to win but not at any cost. We run a program where we graduate our athletes and they are, for the most part, successful in life. Is winning the only thing in life or is preparing these young people to be successful in life just as important? I must admit that my mind has changed on this topic over the last 20 years. There was a time when winning was the only thing and at any cost. My point is how many athletes go on to be professionals in any sport? The percentage is very low. When these young people leave BU most have degrees and are able to get a job. At a lot of these other schools the athletes are lucky to be able to say a complete proper sentence let alone be ready to make a difference in the work place.
Give me the kids w/ an education-by the way w/o looking it up tell me who won the national chanpionship 20 years ago, 10 years ago & 5 years ago.
I will take the kids w/ the education anyday

I dont think Coach K cheated to get last years team and I dont think Brad Stevenson did either so the point is a team can win a championship without cheating.
          Can we start winning soon?

I agree. But it's just a lot easier to compete every year for the championship if a coach does cheat.

"Bradley runs a clean program, never breaks rules, and finishes in the middle of the MVC"

This is where I voted because for me I'd rather BU have a brand of great academics over great athletics any day and no reason to muddy my degree over sports. If winning national championships at any cost enhanced my degree from BU then perhaps I'd think it over.

I think most people overplay the impact of athletic cheating on the perception of alumni's scholastic achievements at a school....Do you really think non revenue sports alumni from USC, Okla, FSU, Ky, Kansas, Auburn etc feel their scholastic achievements are muddied, or that they are disadvantaged in their careers?

If a school was engaged in scholastic/academic improprieties outside an athletic dept, definitely....

Do you really think of scholastics when you think of those schools? The only school in recent memory that had any scholastic weight behind it and had some issues is Michigan.

USC has pretty darn good academics...

26th Overall in the country according to US News

Top 20 programs in Law, Undergrad Business, MBA, and Engineering...

                    I'd call that scholastic weight!

                      Different question......

FWIW, given the size of these schools vs BU, I would have to say they all have the same number, or more, of graduates with similarly impressive academic credentials as BU does...Nothin against BU's academic rep BTW...

I don't think top scholars from the schools I quoted, with academic achievements similar to yours at BU, would feel their accomplishments at their schools, or their community/professional standings, were denigrated by their Athletic Depts' shenanigans...I would venture to guess many of the top students from these schools don't pay much attention to the sports programs at their schools at all....
