Maybe.
But the next time someone says these guys are top notch recruiters, I'm gonna barf.
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."
And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."
I do have a pretty close connection to the Indiana program. I wish I could find out as much about Bradley as I hear about the inner workings of the Hoosiers. It's also how I heard Bradley was recruiting former Indiana player Lucas Steijn and more.
Here is one other writer (PJS Sports Editor Bill Liesse) with some scathing remarks about Kelvin Sampson, calling him slimebucket and "Kelvin Sanctions". Can I assume Bill is an Illnois fan?--
I'll give my opinion on this as an Illini fan. Sampson is scum, but I'm less pissed at him and more at the Gordon family. I don't understand why you commit to a program if you are not committed to the program. Everyone new last year that Davis was on the hot seat and might be gone, so why would Gordon commit to the Illini if he wanted to go to Indiana but was being held back by their coach who might be fired anyhow? All reports indicate the Gordon's contacted Indiana. Meanwhile, Illinois is filling out its class assuming Gordon is committed, now that he's decommitted we have no real options. Basically, the Gordon's have screwed us not only by EJ not coming but also by not having time or options left to replace him.
I know a lot of people here have no sympathy for the Illini, and I'm not saying they should, I just wanted to put out there that I'm as upset with Gordon as I am with Sampson, and it's not just that he chose Indiana, but the way that he went about it.
The good thing is that I think this will do a lot to add fuel to the IU-UI basketball rivalry which has faded somewhat since the days of Knight and Henson.

is anyone else tired of the whining that illini fans have been doing pertaining to eric gordon?

Sorry, I saw the post on it, figured I'd give my opinion. If you don't want to read anything about the Illini and Gordon, I would suggest not opening this thread and sticking to the other Bradley related threads. I see your point though and I am glad this whole ordeal is over so we can all move on.
EDIT: Wow, I didn't even realize that you started this thread. So basically you start a thread about a highly touted recruit decommitting from Illinois and then rip on Illinois fans for being upset about it? Amazing.

Flipper, that is a great pic. Now you just need to airbrush a BU logo on her hat (or elsewhere) to really complete the outfit!

Let's see here....
Flip posted a link to a story about Gordon changing his verbal committment. That's all. After all the comments made... maybe there is beginning to be this annoying sound to all the comments.
So first there was the Flyin' Illini...
then came the Cryin' Illini (after the Illini got robbed of the 2005 National Title )...
now we have the Whinin' Illini.
But I'm not getting tired of hearing them whine. I kinda like it.
Sorry, but I have to get in one barb- I have been reading and hearing for the last few years about what superb recruiters Wayne McClain and Tracy Webster were. But when they thought they had Shaun Livingston, they lost him to Duke. When everyone said Jon Scheyer was all wrapped up for Illinois, they lost him too. Julian Wright was also said to be a lock for Illinois, then he committed to Kansas without ever setting foot in the state of Kansas. Then it was Brandon Rush that was sure to commit to Illinois because Wayne McClain was on him tight. Oops! Then it was Sherron Collins, then Eric Gordon, then Derrick Rose. There have been a lot more, too, like Justin Dentmon, who I hear Illinois really wanted. And Illinois spent a lot of time recruiting Oden, Conley, Scottie Reynolds, Ramar Smith, Dar Tucker, JJ Hickson, Mac Koshwal, Evan Turner, AJ Stewart, and many more. I am not saying they should get all of these, but it seems they never get their top targets and settle for marginal big 10 players like Chester Frazier, Marcus Arnold, Calvin Brock, Warren Carter, Shaun Pruitt and CJ Jackson. I hope their next wave of players is better, Bill Cole, Mike Tisdale, Brian Carlwell, Richard Semrau, but I have my doubts. Now that Bruce Weber doesn't have Bill Self's players around to depend on and to carry him, we'll see how good his recruiters are.
You are forgetting one thing. Bruce Weber can flat out coach! He will get the best from what he has, which to me is better than having a bunch of egostical NBA wanna be's.
Go Illini, except when you play Bradley and Penn State!
