  • Bulls to sign Tracy McGrady?

The Bulls are close to signing Tracy McGrady, a 7-time Al-Star, who twice lead the NBA in scoring average, but has been limited the last 2 seasons with injuries. He is only 31 years old, and apparently is willing to take a role off the bench if asked.
The Chicago Bulls are prepared to sign Tracy McGrady if he proves to be sufficiently healthy in Monday's workout and he can convince the team he is willing to accept an off-the bench role, one source familiar with Chicago's thinking told ESPN.com.

I guess if you are looking for the most has-been, washed up, cant move, malcontent "basketball" player on the planet to put on a team then the Bulls have its man.

Maybe the Bulls will get lucky and he will have season ending surgery in the middle of a season without telling anyone he is going to have surgery. Or maybe he is going to arrive at a game after sitting for over a year and put on a uniform and say he is playing that night, without telling anyone.

The guy cant shoot, cant drive, cant defend and cant move and is not going to be quiet playing a role off of the bench. I see absolutely no reason to bring McGrady on to any team, let alone a team like Chicago who has done very well putting a team together this off season.

Mcgrady was great once. If you don't have to pay much is a one year contract you can afford to eat if it doesn't work out too much of a risk against the potential of getting a revitalized great player on the cheap?
