Interesting blurb on ESPN.com about former ISU head coach Bob Donewald...

A season together with the Yao Ming-owned Shanghai Sharks in China did wonders for John Lucas??™ son John and former Hornets and Cavaliers assistant coach Bob Donewald. Young Lucas followed up his strong play for Donewald in Shanghai with a big summer league with Chicago and is attracting interest from the Bulls and Heat. ???I??™m hopeful that we??™ll have something to announce soon,??? said Bernie Lee, Lucas??™ agent. Donewald, meanwhile, has been hired as the new coach of China??™s national team in addition to his Sharks duties.

Donewald was a VERY good coach but...... he never was, nor ever will be, as big as our Dick!

Bob, Jr's Chinese team get badly whupped by an inexperienced Canadian team...

They call him "Robert Donewald"..but this is the son of the former ISU coach......note his "deer in the headlights" comment...kinda funny...

BTW -- check some of the reader comments - I guess they really gouged people for over $100 ticket price for good seats at this exhibition!

"Canada easily defeated China 86-62 Tuesday in an international exhibition
        game Tuesday.

Andy Rautins..led Canada with 19 points, including four three-pointers.
Jevohn Shepherd, a 24-year-old guard from Toronto, added 16 points while
Joel Anthony, 28, who plays for the NBA Miami Heat, had eight points and led
        Canada with eight rebounds."

"Robert Donewald, the American-born coach of the Chinese team, said his side was simply over powered.
"They just took us out of everything we wanted to get into early," said
Donewald. "I thought we were a deer in the headlights early.

"Wang Zhizhi, a seven-foot centre, was one of the first Chinese players ever
drafted by an NBA team ...scored no points and was held to just one rebound."
