I've always found transfers to be way overrated not only at Bradley but in the MVC as a whole. (generally speaking of course).

Although I guess he technically wasn't a D1 transfer. He was a JUCO recruit. It would be splitting hairs.

Because getting a transfer like this is probably the only way that you will ever see a 4-star/top 100 type of recruit end up at BU...even if their flaws may have gotten exposed a bit at a higher-level BCS program...
If someone is talented and the staff feels like they can help the team, I don't care how they end up here...

Anyway, I think that the caliber of players we've gone after and in some cases brought in as D1 transfers is undeniably good, it's the character that was the problem 9 times out of 10. If our staff can learn from their previous mistakes, I see no reason why picking up Colvin/Smith would not be "money."WE WANT HEEMSKERK!

D-1 transfers have to be the right chemistry...
I have seen cases where they excelled and were tremendous gets like Jim Les was...
I have also seen where the incoming guy takes away perceived playing time, and creates a chemistry nightmare (see NIU, SIU, Alex Legion, and a few other places as well).....
So I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I would trust our head coach to get it right....

Darius Smith-Chris Colvin
BU Braves 55---You are not quite correct in your condemnation of transfers. We have had some teriffic transfers over the years. To name a few:
Marcellus Sommerville - Curtis Stucky - Dodie Dunson - Alex Majieka - Hassan Houston - Steve Kuberski - and don't forget Jim Les who came to BU from Cleveland State!!!
