Mitchell Anderson has just completed the entire week in Peoria -
first being honored last Monday with the dedication...
Then JJ ran his basketball camps all week using the new on-campus facilities and other locales...
"Every summer since 1997, he has staged the weeklong Mitchell “JJ”
Anderson All-Star Basketball Camp — named after a Bradley basketball star
— for underprivileged youth in Peoria. Besides playing sports, kids receive
free health physicals and eye screenings, and learn about the importance of
education, hygiene, and good nutrition."
"Since 1997, boys and girls ages 8 through 14 have been able to attend the camp at no cost."
Dana Davis, a Peoria native who works for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies and
helps organize Anderson’s basketball camp, said he hoped to donate $25,000
to the Carver Center."
But I just wanted to say a couple more things about Mitchell JJ Anderson...
lots of praise and superlatives have already been heaped on JJ so I won't bore you -- but JJ spent hours with the kids & autographing things for kids and is so great with the youngsters....and.....in the process of getting my 1982 Mitchell Anderson ROOKIE NBA card autographed, I learned a little about his old teammate David Thirdkill that I will share privately later if you want!! -

No, I think he meant the 2nd photo. Click to scroll to #2 and it shows BJ Armstrong sitting next to Mitchell Andreson. Does anyone have a guess where this picture was shot?
