  • Bradley plans promotions for Nov. 11 home opener vs. DePaul

*A big push to sell out Carver arena
*Pregame ceremony to recognize the Sweet 16 team
*Quick Change to perform at halftime
*"Sweet 16" Rally towels placed on all 11,164 seats

PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley University Department of Athletics is making a push to make the 2006-07 men's basketball season-opener Nov. 11 against DePaul a sellout at Carver Arena. While several promotional ideas are in the works, both for the DePaul game as well as the other 15 regular-season home games, the Braves plan to recognize their run to the 2006 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in pregame ceremonies Nov. 11. As part of the celebration, commemorative Sweet 16 "rally" towels will be placed in all 11,164 seats and the popular act "Quick Change" will perform during halftime.

Other promotions for future games to be announced later

Fantastic idea by the BU Marketing people to get this season kicked off the right way. Hopefully they'll show some sort of video montage before every game, summarizing the history of the program leading up to last year, similar to what the White Sox showed on the jumbotron before every game this past year. I am not even a Sox fan, but it gives you chills watching something like that. The Bulls show a great one before all of their games too, it really gets you fired up. I think DePaul will probably beat us this year, but a sold-out raucous Carver Arena could change that. Let's do it BU fans!
    Onward and Upward!

JL broached this subject tonite at the Smoker. I will do everything to help getting the word out. A sell out should be easy.

Agreed BBrave...mkt can go along way in helping BU homecourt advantage and something that leaves alot to be desired over the years.

IF BU doesn't take advatage of one of the most wonderful seasons in years.....

Toss the commercials and bring on highlites that pump the crowd into a frenzy.

I expect you to get me one since I plan on not attending for other reasons.

I bet they'll have new "CEFCU" commercials in...

          wait for it...

          high definition.

I'm pumped up just thinking about it.
