anyone see what this DePaul freshman Brandon Young did last night??
He literally put the entire lackluster DePaul squad on his back and carried them...
Brandon was 9-11 from the floor, 6-6 from 3-pt range, and scored 31 of DePaul's 71 points, in their 71-62 win.
The entire rest of the Blue Demons were 12-36 and 0-7 from 3-pt range!

BTW -- when DePaul changed coaches, and Young's friend Walter Pitchford asked out of his DePaul LOI, Young seriously considered a couple of Valley schools when he asked out of his verbal -- but then went to DePaul anyway..
On the season he's averaging 16.3 ppg, and 47% from 3-pt

here's one more amazing stat on Brandon Young...
he is shooting 47% from 3-pt, but the entire rest of his team is 20-95 from 3-pt...a miserable 21%

The nation is going to be shocked in a Hayward-ian sort of way in about 4 months. And, it won't just be because of his world class athleticism, but his basketball IQ. He's that good.
I appreciate posters from other schools who keep us in the loop with their teams' happenings...and typically I have noticed Indy BB to be a very solid poster.

But the above post may be one of the most off-base predictions I have ever seen on this site. Hopkins isn't even top 100 anywhere I looked...3 star on Rivals and Scout, but 2-star on ESPN.

Also, he has had no impact at all this year and is buried on the bench. In fact, the commentators during the Louisville game at one point refered to him as "looking lost" on offense, which typically isn't a sign of a high bball IQ.

With Van Zant and Hahn graduating and (I predict) Mack going pro, he will definitely have a chance to prove you right...next year.
