  • Chris Colvin

    Interesting:
"A transfer who’s surfaced as having interest in BU is guard Chris Colvin, a Chicago native who left Iowa State after one season. Colvin has paid a visit to Bradley as he ponders his next move."

Good luck should he pick Bradley. If he gets his head on straight he could be a great addition.

This has been talked about for awhile.

I have no interest in colvin until MO is out.

Even then...I don't want players who pass on Bradley once.....but whatever.

Didn't Dodie Dunson pass on BU once? From all I have read this kid is a highly skilled major college PG. If he has good character or has matured and "turned the corner" I would welcome him at BU.... We're going to need someone like him after next year.... And I think Les and Willie Scott can make him into a pro player.

Looks like Reynolds gets some of that information from this site!

This kid didn't pass on BU for SIU or ISU, he passed on us with offers from Iowa State, Illinois, USC and Providence. Rivals had him as the 92 best player in the country in 2009 and the 15th best PG in the country. Scout had him as a 4 star recruit and the #10 PG in the country and ESPN had as the #19 PG in the country and rated as a 91. If his head is on straight and he wants to be at BU, why wouldn't you want him? Again, if his head is on straight.

Does anyone else know who is in on him now? I've read somewhere he'd like Marquette so I'm not holding my breath.

I've seen elsewhere that TCU, DePaul, and isu are also involved.

I can't seem to find anything connecting him to Marquette. I don't know how many scholarships they have available, but they do have five players signed for this fall and three of those are guards.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

                Totally agree...

If the staff has talked to him and felt comfortable with him from an attitude perspective, we would be completely out of our minds if we passed on a guy that was a top 100 recruit coming out of HS...

If Iman Shumpert or Evan Turner called Jim Les and wanted to come here after their freshman years, would any of us really want the staff to respond with: "Hey...thanks for your interest, but since you turned down BU the first time we recruited you, we don't want you. Best of luck to you, though..."

I'm not implying that Colvin is as talented as Shumpert or Turner, clearly...but he was a top-100 recruit, and getting an opportunity to have one of those type of guys at BU is a chance you have to jump at if it is there...

                Hopefully it works out...

I wasn't sure I wanted him out of HS. I didn't think I wanted to use a scholarship on Will Franklin either, so I can be totally wrong. I will trust the coaches judgement. By the way has Darius Smith went anywhere? That would be who I really want if we are getting a transfer.

my feelings are more directed to the fact him coming means we couldn't land a decent big man for this coming year where it appears we will be peaking.

Darius Smith has not re-committed anywhere yet.

He would be a great get for Bradley plus he would like it much better here.
