  • Pac-10 bans media guides

actually there's a really funny twist to this story...because they are releasing two different, long printed releases to explain why they need to cut down on printed media guides, but can still send out the ones on "flash drives"..

the conference is banning media guides, since it wastes a bunch of paper in their judgement and kills way too many trees...and it's costly, giving the richer schools like USC an advantage

but the media release explaining why they are banning media guides came out in paper format and took

"As part of its failed cost-cutting program, the Pac-10 proposed eliminating all printed media guides ..
(and the proposal passed).......prohibiting institutions from providing printed media guides.."

BUT -- the NCAA...."released a massive Educational Column on Proposal 2009-42"
and "The Pac-10 has posted a quick visual reference on the effect of Proposal 2009-42 along with a 10-page guide on the same topic. That??™s
right: it takes ten pages to completely explain how the new proposal affects limits on media guides."
