  • Duke Watch Party

Would anyone be in favor of:
    A) Using that small 4500 seat arena to host a big watch party (Duke-Butler @ Hinkle)
    B) Have a watch party on campus or at a ballroom in the Civic Center, Embassy, Pere Marquette, etc.
    or
    C) Designating a "BU B-Dubs"

for fans to go watch the game. I'm sure the Alums would be more than happy to help make this happen!
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

This is acutally already in the works, at least for the students, though i think it would be awesome if we could get both the students and alumni/community together. We started planning a roadtrip to the game, but then when we found out its on study day and finals start the morning after the game we figured it'd be kinda rough to make it back in time let alone study for the exams, so since then we've started to look into options for a viewing party. The Fieldhouse might not be a bad idea ethier as they have the big back room.

Im not understanding this I guess...maybe Im missing the obvious here?, but with regards to A:

Are you saying a party to watch the Bradley-Duke game or the Duke-Butler game?....and if its the latter they are not playing the Duke Butler game at Hinkle are they?....I thought it was neutral site?...and unless Ive missed it...we are not playing Butler this year right?

right Heemey! There's video of it. Most famous clip is the one when Hayward missed the Game winner.

Oh, and what chances do you think we would have of having the band in out-playing Duke's on the screen during Timeouts instead of watching commercials?

Anyone planning on making the trip out there? I will be. For those that are and are flying through Chicago, I would suggest signing up for American Airlines' Advantage program (frequent flyer program), and sign up for this special - Triple Miles (for free flights) and Double Elite Miles (for status) to Raleigh-Durham through December 31.

AA has similar specials through the end of the year for flights to St. Louis and Pittsburgh as well.
              Onward and Upward!

As this game draws nearer we will definitely have to plan a pre-game/post-game meet-up spot. This is one game I will not miss.

quick searching shows around $250 dollars for round trip airfare leaving Dec. 7th returning Dec 9th....

I wonder if that is both ways. that is what it says but that sounds cheap...

oh it is from midway in chicago.

                    about 280 from bloomington.

My father is a professor at dook, I will do some snooping around and see what the ticket situation is for faculty... I'll let you guys know if there is some way to score a bundle of seats.
