Patrick O'Bryant has solid outing in NBA summer league.....
His T-Wolves lost to the Spurs, and they only scored 61, but POB was ok...
he started & played 33:39 minutes, was 4-9, 9 pts, 7 rebs, 1 asst, 2 steals, and ONLY 1 foul!!
Nobody else even had more than 5 rebs nor 13 pts...
The Spurs' starting center was held to just 3 pts on one made basket
Jordan Eglseder played 10:15 for the Pistons, and was 0-2, scoreless and just 3 rebs...
Dinma has gotten on the Grizzlies roster - he has not played yet...
Wall had another good game 18 pts, 10 asst...Bledsoe had a double-double with 17 pts/10 turnovers!
Portland beat New Orleans 81-69 and again, Osiris Eldridge did not get off the bench.
Craig Brackins had 9 pts, 3 reb
Sacramento beat LA, DeMarcus Cousins had a fine game 19 pts, 12 reb
Derrick Caracter continues to impress.
Memphis beat Milwaukee 67-64 - Dinma Odiakosa got his first action with Memphis, and his stat line looked like this:
0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 blocks, 0 steals, 1 foul, 2 turnovers
The Bulls' summer team clobbered Vinny del Negro's new team, the Clips 79-50!!
John Lucas III had a tremendous game for the Bulls and opened some eyes...
The ex-Baylor and ex-Oklahoma State PG had 25 points on 6-6 from 3pt
He also helped in holding Eric Bledsoe to only 4 points in 33 minutes plus 7 turnovers!
Sacramento beat Minnesota 79-78, and it was a HUGE matchup of top centers!!
Patrick O'Bryant faced rookie DeMarcus Cousins...and held Cousins to 22 points and 12 rebounds!!
DeMarcus got hot at one point and picked up a "T"!
POB also scored 4 and had 6 rebs.
In the Pistons/Heat game, Jordan Eglseder got to play 8 minutes and went
0-0, scoreless, 2 rebounds, 2 turnovers, 2 fouls, no blocks, assists, or steals.
Mac Koshwal had 4 & 6.
John Wall had another good game with 19 pts, 10 asst...but he was only 4-19 from the floor
For the third straight game Osiris Eldridge was listed on the Portland roster but did not play.
You gotta wonder what's going on....did he fly to Vegas just to keep the bench warm??
Dinma played 3:35 and was scoreless with no other stats
Pistons lose and Jordan Eglseder is scoreless again...he's played several games thus far and has not scored one single point..
he is probably being given the Turkish guy's phone #
DeMarcus Cousins is rolling .. 16 pts, 12 rebs, 10 personal fouls - a triple double!!
John Wall goes for 31!!
--all the more makes you wonder how really BAD, BAD, BAD of a coach John Calipari is when he had at least two
NBA All Stars plus three other NBA first round picks, and couldn't even get to the Final Four!
Memphis played the T-wolves...
Memphis' Dinma Odiakosa scoreless, while the T-Wolves' Patrick O'Bryant gets 11 pts, 6 rebs, and plays good defense on Hasheem Thabeet - in fact the Griz' entire starting front court is just 5-22
There is some talk that the T-Wolves are at least interested in signing POB as a backup center...they have only Darko Milicic, Ryan Hollins, and Greg Stiemsma as centers..and it is probable that one or two of those guys will get cut loose
Portland played the Bulls in summer league play..
again Osiris did not play
POB started, had 3 pts, 4 rebs, played decent defense
Dinma got 20 minutes of playing time for the Griz..5 pts on 2-6, 3 reb, 4 TO
Pistons lose and Jordan Eglseder is scoreless again...he's played several games thus far and has not scored one single point..
he is probably being given the Turkish guy's phone #

Bad coach? Seriously? The guy is a fantastic coach. Those guys were all freshmen last year, for goodness sakes.
not talking the class they were in college I find that less relevant...
..talking the level of talent he obviously had...with more actual talent than just about any college team has ever had on one roster...he should not have lost a game
BTW -- final stats for the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League
Top Scorers...
John Wall (Wizards) 23.5 ppg
Reggie Williams (GSW) - 22.6 ppg
DeMar DeRozan (Tor) 21.0 ppg (more prrof of how bad of a coach Tim Floyd was)
JaValle McGee (Wizards) 19.5 ppg

In that game POB shut down Jeff Pendergraph and got him riled enough to pick up another technical, and blocked several of his shots.
"John Krolik of Cavs the Blog on Patrick O'Bryant: "O'Bryant has shown a few good signs in Vegas.
He's always had an NBA body, and he's showed off a few post moves during his time in Vegas.
He's sealed his man off effectively, shown a nice little jump hook, and converted some plays around the rim.
He hasn't been dominant, but one expects that at least one team will give the 24-year old 7-footer
one more chance to crack their rotation."
Drafting for need vs. talent remains one of the more polarizing debates in late spring among basketball fans and insiders. Do you take the best player on the board or opt to fill a positional need?
"Patrick O'Bryant, C, Minnesota Timberwolves - Hey, look at that, Patrick O'Bryant finally played well!
After not making much of an impression over the first three games, O'Bryant had a solid double-double with 16 and 10 rebounds."
