Ok, I have been asleep on BU soccer obviously. Can someone clue me in on when EIU joined the MVC in soccer? And I thought SMU and/or TCU were in the MVC for soccer - when/why did they leave? Is the MVC still a solid/top soccer conference?

Sorry, soccer just isn't one of my strong points for BU sports.

Western Kentucky will not be joining the MVC, as they are planning on going to Div-1A in football

The MVC includes Eastern Illinois and WKU, because several other MVC state schools do not field a men's soccer team (Wichita State, Illinois State, Indiana State, SIU, UNI-- thanks to Title IX). SMU and Vanderbilt, who were in the MVC last year, left the MVC to join other conferences. They were in the MVC because their conferences didn't even compete in men's soccer.

SMU left two years ago I believe. MVC definitely is not as strong as they were a couple of years ago in Soccer, but Creighton is still very good, and Bradley and Missouri State both have solid programs too.

The SEC does not support soccer.

Conference USA three years ago began supporting soccer, and Tulsa and SMU left to play in that league. SEC members South Carolina and Kentucky now play in the upstart league.

St. Louis had been in the Valley for a few years as well, but left when they joined the A10.

Vanderbilt has disbanded soccer effective upon completion of last season, I believe.
