So I hear that with the new performance Arena and updates at Carver there will be many more options for Music during games, and perhaps music would be piped in as well as provided by the Basketball Band. If this were to happen, what kind of music would you want to hear? I know I personally would like to hear some newer music that I know would get the Students pumped up about the game.

I would be even more impressed if people didn't complain when a person stands up, especially when encouraged by messages on the scoreboard!???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Before the game, they usually play a pretty good variety. I've heard "Twist and Shout" and "Everytime We Touch" every now and again. I would also be impressed if people didn't complain when someone stands up. As much as the alumni and "old people" (as some call them) help us out financially and such, they don't exactly jump up at every dunk or sweet three.... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

Seems to me they play it on schedule twice a half and they should play it when the crowd, young an old is going wild. No one complains when someone jumps up during a play, etc., but to stand and remain standing during the game in parts of the arena outside the student section isn't called for. Most of the arena is on their feet when the Braves are playing good and the opponents call time out, but once play resumes I sit back down and cheer with the best of them as do most of us "bluehairs" Who do you think makes the noise in the arena? The few students that show up couldn't make that much noise. What part of illegal don't you understand?

I think they over play the fight song and because of it a lot of fans do not stand up after the 3rd time , it should only be used at the start of the game and towards the end of the game, other music would be fine as long as it is not rap.

I remember people complaining that they didn't play the fight song enough....then they started playing it frequently. Usually the number of people standing slowly declines by play.
Doesn't ISU play theirs at the end of every other song they play.......I find whatever song that is annoying after the first half timeout.

Speaking as someone who has had familiy members that played in the band and someone who loved being a part of the student section...you have to understand, RedSea, that the band is the largest and most uniformly vocal supporters of the team at games.
They cheer with the cheerleaders (not against them...usually) and they do so whether the team is winning or losing. They never sit and they always are wearing red and white.
Because you are a newer student you probably wouldn't know about this...but a couple of years ago they tried to pipe-in music to "upgrade" the atmosphere.
Any guesses as to what happened next?
The band - who normally stand for 100% of pretty much every game - sat down. They didn't cheer, they didn't play, it completely sapped them. Needless to say, they were pissed.
They joined the band to go to games and support the team musically. Every time a silly commercial runs, the dance team is out on the floor, they play any of your "piped-in" music, or Paul Herzog rambles on for WAY TOO long it cuts into the time that the band has for doing what it came to do.
How lame would it be to join the band and only get to play the fightsong and like two-three other tunes. I know I wouldn't bother with the commitment.
LIVE MUSIC AND EXCITED BAND > any piped in music you could dream up
If you'd like to hear "newer" music - why not ask the band to play it. I know Dr. V is always up for suggestions. Seriously, send him an email if you want to hear something at a game.
Here is his email address: dvroman@bradley.edu

On a separate note...I happen to think the fightsong is played just about the right amount of times. Begining (team enters court), end (team leaves court - actually an abbreviated version of the fightsong), usually the under 4 minute timeout of each half and whenever BU is on a run and forces the other team to call timeout.
