He finished his career by playing 2 years at Loyola, and I think he even played against Bradley a couple times.

SIU's Anthony Booker transfers to Iowa State

Old thread revived - in an effort to check on how this turned out for Anthony Booker...
Obviously he had to sit out a year then had two years left at Iowa State..
It's hard to know if he's happy with the move he made - but there's gotta at least be some doubt....Booker could have been an Anthony Tolliver or Jackie Carmichael in the Valley....coulda...
..unfortunately he was used as just a transition guy until Fred Hoiberg could land his own players...
While at SIU he played every game and was a key player - and would have had the same status had he transferred to another midmajor..
But - at Iowa State, he's been a sub, not a key player - and as time has worn on - his playing time has gone down, down, down...
Now as Melvin Ejim & Will Clyburn have developed - Booker is riding the bench and NOT playing at all.
His PT had shrunk to only 5-8 minutes over most of the past 2 months...and he's only made 3 baskets since December 19!
Last night - in a close loss at Oklahoma State, Booker didn't even play at all.
I have been following the Valley for 40 years - and in that time span there have only been a FEW players who "transfer up"...
go from the MVC to a BCS school...
we've had Marcus Arnold, James Hamilton, Booker....and now Nic Moore...actually Sam M. may have actually been one of the most successful but still wasn't a star...
(not counting Granger - he still went to another mid-major)
in contrast - a few who had the talent to do so - stayed in the Valley and were HUGELY successful (Larry Bird, Hawk, Korver, McDermott) so I hope we don't see more talent loss to bigger schools -
Have any that have "transferred up" from the MVC really ever been successful at the higher level??

sure - I guess he's a "transfer up" in a way....
as you know - he NEVER played much at all for Bradley - certainly isn't the kind of player I was thinking of who transferred up because he was good at the MVC-level...
and he did go first to juco before Indiana but was little more than a role player there - but he kind of fits my point - that he might have possibly been a great player at an MVC level - maybe a Korver or Funk-type or Wragge-type
