Keeping everyone else in the valley
I like the list of teams and the idea of keeping the Valley intact (other than Evansville), but I would much rather have 16 teams than 15.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Only reasons I mentioned Lasalle, is they have been to the NCAA Tour. 11 or 12 times and won it once and about the same # of trips to the NIT with a Tournament win once. Whats a matter, you don't like Philly cheese

I did say I liked even #'s, so add one. Because I would drop Evansville, what about another Indiana team, IUPUI New school, but in the land of a lot of talent and I see them getting some and their program growing

Are 16 teams necessary for basketball? I'm more in favor of a 10-12 schools in a mid-west based conference that has a mid-west identity. I don't want it to try to masquarade as an east-coast conference.

Bradley needs to join a league that is capable of maketing academics first, but with good basketball squads. That is what will seperate a new conference from the others. No directional state schools needed. If a 10-12 team mid-west based private school conference wants to have a schedule alignment in basketball with a similar east-coast private school league, fine ... but don't try to create a 16 team league stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to heartland. All you end up with is the same situation SLU has now being in the A-10.

Maybe a bit of a hangover from the Stanley Cup!

I agree that 10-12 team conferences make the most sense for basketball and probably jus about every sport for that matter. Not sure of the megaconference threat is gone but it does seem to have receded. I also think that for Bradley it's fairly important to try to seperate itself from schools who are interested in FBS football and/or conferences with a similar interest as I believe Bradley could be a second class citizen in any such conference.

hmmm, methinks Mr. Wessler has been reading this thread:
                http://www.bradleyhoops.com/homepage...ce-proactivity

Maybe we WILL make a change in the Conference alignment! That Conference proposed by Wessler looks a heck of a lot like Gwright's original!!! Let's hope I can get the same attention for Jim Cornelsion!

This may be the very first time I agree with KW or he agrees with me. I also believe he has been reading BradleyFans.com I have said as much as his column. He did add a quote from Cross which seems to indicate that the Admin is trying to put BU on the right track in case we need to make a changes.
"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

For whatever it's worth KW's conference is almost identical to the one I proposed in the "valley expansion" thread on this board... The only differences being that his eastern conference has LaSalle and Duquesne where I had UMass and George Washington (or George Mason). To be fair, I think Duquesne might be a better choice than GWU/GMU because of the added TV market where GWU/GMU would just compete with Georgetown. Anyway, nice to see KW agitating in a direction some of us are looking.

The last thing we need is another person who wants JL gone but tries to disguise it...
