This is a good hire and addition. A Jim Les man, someone who Jim knows, will listen to and trusts. Willie is a winner Welcome back Road Runner
This is starting to look really good, friends
All the years I've watched Bradley basketball there's been nothing more exciting than watching Willie get the ball and head up court. I'd like to have a dollar for every time I've yelled "beep beep". Every time we see a roadrunner in Arizona I tell her there goes Willie, "beep beep". Thanks Jim for bringing him back. Once a Brave, always a Brave.
What a great hire Jim. Willie was probably one of most fun Braves to watch with the ball in his hands. Now if he can recruit Chi. that would be a huge plus. Welcome back Willie a great hire. Now lets get MO in here and let the season begin.
I think I like this hire a lot, and the connection with Dick Versace & Coach Les made it happen!!
Here's an older thread we had about Willie when a story appeared in the Bradley Hilltopper about his designing career...
Welcome back to the Hilltop "road runner" and the fun should be starting as what a combination of JL and WS to teach out point guards. As w/ any team the pg is where all plays are run through and they should be able to bring out the best in our guards.
I personally do not care about the connect to Bradley, just like I do not care about a guy being from Peoria.
What I do care about is connections to Chicago and getting back in with the talent in that city. Lemon was a great step in that direction. Hopefully Willie Scott can start opening up more Chicago talent doors for Bradley.
This concludes a tremendous upgrade of our coaching staff. Jim Platt who brings more experience than the rest of our staff combined and knows how to teach D and Wille Scott with strong Chicago connections is exactly what we needed. Our assitants are finally on par with the rest of the Valley. I think these guys will be the best recruits from this off season.

Great posts... All I can say after this is welcome back to Bradley Willie Scott!
Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
Glad to have WS back, I loved watching him play and think he will do some great things in his new roll. As someone else said, get MO on campus and everything is in place. How about winning the MVC the first year we are in the new facilities..........
The thing that makes me happy about hiring Willie instead of Tracy Webster is the fact I would think he would be more likely to stay for a while. I realize there is no guarantee he doesn't move on, but I can almost guarantee Webster would have been a one year or two max deal.
Very happy to have Willie Scott back at BU. He seems perfectly suited (no pun intended) for this role. I'm anxious to see what kind of talent from Chicago we land in the next few years. We were at our best when Chicago was our recruiting hub.

Have to agree w/ the recruiting of Chicago and WS can spend the time and, I am sure, has the ties to find the sleepers that are in Chicago.

I agree. We need more players like Sam Maniscalco. If we can get hard nosed players with talent like that consistently we would be sitting good. Chicago has a lot of talent that could end up at BU.
