  • Bad news piles up for Kansas Jayhawks

Scandal, then the ominous possibility of everyone else in their conference bolting for greener pastures leaving Kansas alone and without a conference...
then news this morning that their top incoming recruit, 5-Star Josh Selby, breaks his hand and will be out several weeks this summer....

now Kansas' Athletic Director says he'll step down in the middle of all this controversy and scandal..but not for another 15 months...
in other words...even though he's doing a terrible job and is embroiled in scandal, and fans & boosters are calling for the guy to be canned...
instead he wants to stay right there for another year & 3 months drawing his salary of $4.4 million per year..
and the favorable press in Kansas has laid off the guy for the most part with headlines like this...
..saying he hasn't done a bad job...just that "his ship went off course"....

Universities are PRIMARILY about educating their students....and yet they pay this obscene salary to a guy running the sports department at the school, while fine educators get 1% of that salary!!!
Several of their 18 sports programs have under the national average in the recent NCAA academic data...

In a bit of more bad news for Kansas....the draft did NOT favor their players as much as was expected...

Sherron Collins went undrafted....many thought he'd not only be a first rounder but a medium to high first rounder...but I guess that extra pudge and bad work ethic ended up hurting him...
Bill Self takes a little rip at all 30 NBA essentially calling them stupid for not drafting his guy...
"I think it’s disappointing,” Self said. “I can’t believe he’s not one of the best 60
prospects to come out of this draft.
..Hopefully this will be a big carrot for him to basically prove everybody wrong.”

Cole Aldrich - once pegged as a top 10 pick - fell out of the top 10...
