It has been over a year since Al B has left how do you think recruiting has gone?We talked about it when he left and I was one of the very few who said it would get better and I think it has what does everyone else think?

I think it remains to be seen. We will see what Warren and Salley provide this year, and what Maniscalco, Fears, Williams, Thompson, Egolf, and a JUCO big bring to the table next year.

Keep in mind though, recruiting SHOULD get better after going to the Sweet 16 and putting a kid in the NBA Lottery.
    Onward and Upward!

It's really hard to say because Al B didn't have the benefit of selling a Sweet 16 appearance and a recent 1st round NBA draft choice to tout coming from his school.

I think Al was a good recruiter. He was such a nice guy, that his personality sold a lot of kids and families. But Bradley never has done well lately in the Chicago area and nationally, and now that appears to be changing. It will take more time to judge fully.

I think it also helps to have plans and pics of the new practice facility and other new buildings for the kids to see! Coach Al didn't have that and his recruit made it to the NBA in 2 years! Lets wait and see how these kids pan-out 1st!

It looks like Bradley's gain is Wichita State's loss. Bradley got the committment from Anthony Thompson, taking him away from SMU. Then Matt Doherty and SMU offered and got a committment from another similar Texas high schooler. Unfortunately for Wichita State, they were after the kid, too.

In this premium article, he says he chose SMU over an offer from Wichita State because he was sold on Matt Doherty--

Here is another link to a story about Matt Doherty. He thinks he's "50 times better" a basketball coach now then when he failed at North Carolina--

The national media seems to love this guy.
