UCLA is not on our schedule...but they did just release their non-conference slate and it's indicative of how the mighty have fallen..
Now all they seem to want to do is schedule cupcakes at home...

This is the list of their non-conference opponents..
Thu., Nov. 4, Westmont College (Exhibition)
Tue., Nov. 9, Cal State Los Angeles (Exhibition)
Fri., Nov. 12, Cal State Northridge
Mon., Nov. 15-26 Preseason NIT (field is weak this year)
Thu., Dec. 2, at Kansas (Pac-10/Big 12 Hardwood Series)
    Sun., Dec. 5, Montana
    Sat., Dec. 11, Cal Poly
    Mon., Dec. 13, UC Davis
Sat., Dec. 18, at Wooden Classic - TBD
    Tue., Dec. 21, Montana State
    Thu., Dec. 23, UC Irvine
    Sat., Feb. 5, St. John's

With the Pac-10 really weak again this coming year - they really don't play anyone, except the game vs. Kansas that's part of the league matchups between the Pac-10 & Big 12, so they really didn't schedule it..

Note that UC Davis, Tyler Les' school, will play at UCLA on December 13.

Here is a story from UC-D about Tyler Les..

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

They also have an article up this morning about another new "recruit" (actually a transfer but the story described him as a recruit), Harrison DuPont.
        UC-Davis has a Top-10 midmajor recruiting class...

Not the kind of schedule that gets you ready for Valley play. Has Elgin looked at this cup-cake schedule?
New Mexico is their biggest challenge, and Iowa might actually be a close game.
Come on Valley! Try to keep up with BU's efforts.

it's good that they play the two big schools in state, but this season both will be weak

Nice scheduling job for Missouri State...

seems they have a deal with Oklahoma State (a 2 for 1) and it starts this year...
"OSU also enters into the first game of a 2-for-1 series with Missouri State"

Other games that Missouri State knows about...
Home- Saint Louis, Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Oral Roberts, Central Arkansas
Away- At Tulsa, and poss. @ Minnesota, @ BracketBusters and of course @ Oklahoma State (OSU plays @ MSU in 2011!)

in Preseason NIT- Belmont then poss. Tennessee
Here are all the teams in the Preseason NIT:
Tennessee, Missouri St., Belmont, Arkansas St., Villanova, George Washington, Boston,
Marist, UCLA, Nevada, Pepperdine, Pacific, Wake Forest, VCU, Winthrop, Hampton

*** Missouri State is the lone Valley team NOT playing in the Missouri Valley/Mountain West Challenge, but they still might have their BB return vs. Nevada this year.

MSU's schedule is nice to see - their home games aren't too difficult, but a couple of them will give them a challenge (St. Louis, ORU)
Nice job at scheduling some toughies on the road. Maybe they'll even take the Preseason NIT tourney?

At least we have 2 Valley schools (BU & MSU) who have a decent non-conf. schedule. Maybe SIU too, with games vs. Austin Peay/Purdue/Richmond?/U of I.

Does ISU (red) play Moorehead St. in the BB return game this year? If so, that may be their toughest non-conf. game.

nope -- I am sure that game will be 2011-2012, when Faried is graduated and Morehead is far weaker...

I note that Wichita State, Creighton, ISU, and Evansville are all still vigorously advertising and trying to land more games...
Wichita claims they're looking for "multiple" home and road games......

How can that be? I thought it was so easy to schedule that there are amateurs on these bulletin boards that could do it better?

I hope CU gets rid of some of their guarantee-win home games like Houston Baptist and the likes. I know their focus under the DA era was on winning the MVC, but their weak non-conf. schedule prevented them from returning to the NCAA tourney 2 years ago. To their credit, they DO seem to participate in tourneys with pretty good competition early in the season. We'll see what changes GM has in store for the Bluejays.

in some circles it IS easy...
since SEMO, Grambling, and Houston Baptist are always looking for games...
                        but too bad Winston-Salem State
won't be available any more, as they now have a full slate of D-II's to face since dropping out of D-I

Kennesaw State releases their schedule and they are playing Creighton, so it looks like Mc Dermott is taking a page from Tim Jankovich's book...
They are also playing Iowa State so maybe Mac is responsible for both games!
The official 2024-25 Men's Basketball schedule for the Kennesaw State University Owls

The real stunner is that Kennesaw hosts Georgia Tech at HOME!!! Wonder why Georgia Tech is playing there??
Kennesaw State is in just their 2nd year of being fully D-I.
In the 5 years they have been transitioning and now in D-I they have never had a winning season and are 55-97.

Sneaky. The campuses are about 30 minutes apart, and there's obvious RPI benefits for a road win.

I wonder what the financial windfall for both schools will be for this game.

Paul Hewitt has played at least one true road game at a mid nearly every year at GT.

I like that he does that. Not many of those are good mids, but still cool.
