Sorry, I wasn't calling you out on your post. I was just making an observation that I've noticed this "I don't care about other programs" come up in a good number of threads by a number of posters here......but almost never when it puts Bradley in a lesser light somehow. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the context of all these statements, but I just think it's a little ridiculous to not care about any aspect of any other program. No....overall I don't care about the isu program, but when they continue scheduling the way they do, it kind of affects the entire conference. Why wouldn't I care about the way they schedule? If that's the case, I wouldn't care how ANY of the Valley teams schedule, be it DII, three-day home tournaments that don't include any team of "name recognition". That's just not the case and I don't understand how a Bradley fan could not care about what other programs are doing, especially conference opponents. They are our competition! I'm sure all businesses really don't care about anyone other than themselves?

If you think posters like Dogs and JD would ever send a post trying to make Bradley look bad you are sadly mistaken. I know them both and you won't find bigger Bradley fans. Except maybe myself. JK

Good thing I'm not sadly mistaken. I'll repeat my previous reply.....I've noticed around here the only time to care about another program is when it seems to put Bradley in a worse position or make Bradley look bad somehow. Otherwise, it's the standard "I don't care about other teams". Maybe I'm the only one that's noticed such a thing, but maybe that's because once I noticed it seemed to stand out even more when it did show up.

I think what MANY people get tired of is the constant ISU speeding tickets type stuff when the EXACT same stuff goes on here and gets downplayed and excused ad nauseum.

We've had STAR transport.....underage drinking......an assault on a female.....enough to, at least IMO, NOT cast stones at other programs.

Yes I think you are not understanding the context.....of course we care about other programs when it comes to ON the court stuff but since we don't live in a glass house the casting of stones is silly in the minds of many BU fans.


I should add I DO think BU does a fairly god job of dealing with this stuff......I'll also add I don't care how other programs deal with what goes on at their institution.

I would ALSO add I'd like to get through a year when something doesn't take place that brings embarassment to the program.

Dogs, the haters never let the truth get in their way.
No matter how trivial any issue is, and its not me saying the tweeting was trivial, its everyone at BU all the way to the top. This thread shows pretty clearly that despite no major legal or disciplinary issues for years, people still want to drag up ancient minor stuff to try to reflect anything negative they can at BU.
You and anyone are free to wallow in your disdain. Or in your search for truth.

I don't know any haters.....I only pay attention to people on the two local boards and none of the posters that I know hate anything related to BU other then losing.

Not quite sure how to answer the wallowing in disdain thing becuase I'm not quite sure where thats coming from. I'm quite happy and content...still with a smile on my face from our 2002 success much like I still smile about the 85 Bears. I'll be even happier IF/WHEN we win the Valley regular season title ond/or the Valley tourney and/or finish in the top 3...heck even 4...nah top 3 Valley isn't asking TOO much.


You don't call all the stuff that has gone on with TB a "disciplinary issue"......what about the McCain situation......

I do think most posters here do care about what the other programs, particularly in the Valley, are doing. It's just that when something negative happens within the Bradley athletic department, all of the sudden certain posters bring out the current status of Kentucky or Illinois as a way to portray our program in a negative manner.

The problem with this is that why don't these same posters care about these programs when everything is fine with us? Second, why do they always bring up these other programs only to "prove" that we are "no better" than them?

Yes, two wrongs don't make a right, but it has been proven time after time here that Bradley deals with their issues in a swift, aggressive manner, whereas other programs treat their problem players with kid gloves. So even if a poster wants to use another programs' issues to bring us down, it can't even be done because our players rarely, if ever stoop to the level of some of the crimes I have seen committed on other teams. So these arguments don't even hold any validity here.

Boy, I must really be dense because I don't see where a thread condemning Kentucky and their coach or isu and all their problems etc., I could go on and on, can make Bradley look bad.

"constant" .....really??

ISU has had multiple DUI's, a recent charge of a serious assault on an underage girl, and a few other things...
You would be hard pressed to find on this board even more than a few comments about those serious crimes, let alone find a whole thread about them like other boards have when a minor issue occurs at BU.
..but as for the "constant" stuff about the speeding tickets, can you give a some links to one of these posts??
I mean, if they are "constant" then surely you can find a bunch of those posts from just the past day or two, right....or just maybe there's at minimum, a bit of exaggeration here - and at maximum a bit of dishonesty..

I still think Dave is a great hire. I'm not insightful or smart enough to see all the Indians (or Braves) in the wood pile so I will contiue to plod along in ignorant bliss. I like reading what goes on at other schools ... good and bad.

as heavily as the NCAA and certain local media breathe right down the backs of everyone's necks at BU-
it isn't likely they even think of doing anything outside the rules or even capable of giving the impression it's outside the rules.
I doubt there's a cleaner program in D-I for those reasons....
