Pac 10 now looking to raid Big 12

It seems like to me that with the ultimadum made, I just can't see long-term relations with everyone in the Big 12 lasting. Even if the Big 12 stands pat, the Big 10 can still go east for expansion and the SEC will then come knocking. Sure, Texas can stay loyal and decline them, but then all of a sudden, everyone but the Big 12 is expanding, and by standing pat, everyone in the Big 12 falls behind in the arms race anyways.
I guarantee there's some people in Nebraska and Missouri gently nudging the Big 10, asking for an accelerated timeline.

It would make for an excellent football conference and not terrible basketball.
I said earlier that Nebraska held the key to this, but the more I read and think about it, this is all about what Texas does or doesnt do. If they leave the others will follow, if they dont and even if Neb and Mizzo leave the Big 12 will stay alive with bringing in TCU and another to be determined.

Pac 10 is creating a Pacific rim marketing deal that could blow the water out of any TV deals in the works right now. They are looking at reaching out to those billions of people out in Asia. There is already is a large Asian market out west so the ability to market the Pac 10 teams out there is not a stretch. Think Nike and company helping to brand merchandise plus a large TV deal."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

It seems to be getting closer to reality- There are reports that Nebraska will announce as soon as Friday that they are leaving the Big 12 to join the Big Ten.

saw some discussion of possible calls by Kansas & K-State to the Big East...
since a lot of Big East schools are all about basketball and NOT football, then maybe KU & KSU would fir there and then they could jettison some of their dead weight (aka DePaul, Rutgers, St. Johns, USF, Providence...)

but now it is pretty apparently this will end as Utah is likely moving to the Pac-10 or the Big 12

The long answer: Yes, if those schools would accept.
