Former Bradley recruit Darius Smith leaving UConn

several months ago the writing was on the wall, and it was just a matter of time...
now with possible sanctions hanging over UConn, Darius is finally making a smart decision to get out....
I sure hope he doesn't aim too high again and go somewhere just to sit on the bench again as we have seen so many other kids do who'd have made great players at a midmajor...

I was really excited about this guy when we were recruiting him... I'd love to have him transfer in and join the guard rotation in 2011-2012.

Here's another recruit leaving and asking out of his LOI, and Keno Davis is not going to let him out...same situation as the kid at DePaul...

"But if a recruit is no longer enthusiastic about being your player, somewhere along the line, you lost him. You have to let him go. It's that simple. It's especially bad when a school refuses to do so in the midst of a coaching change -- looking at you again, DePaul -- but it's always bad."
I disagree. If there is tampering involved with other schools, then I don't think it's a bad move to take a stance.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
