  • Season Ticket Maintenance Fees

    Newbie question,

I just graduated from Bradley and am staying in the area. I am looking at season tix prices and am a lil confused by the maintenance fees. I am assuming these go on top of the ticket prices, but what are they for?

the extra $$ is used for the athletic dept.'s needs such as recruiting budget...and almost all D-I schools do this - asking a maintainence for the right to re-up your season tix each year...
each level of season ticket holders has a different maintainence..but the amount drops dramatically when you have season tix that are less desirable..

So are they only for renewals or do they apply to new buyers as well

Here are the maintenance fees...and they depend a little on how many seats you hold...

Seats in Sec 1 & 13, the best sections right at midcourt are $450-500 ea
Seats in Sec 2, 12, 14, 24 (the other secitons between the end lines) are $300-350 ea
Seats in the rest of the lower bowl and a few prime seats at mid-court upper bowl are $130-150 ea
Seats in the first few rows of the other upper bowl sections that are between the baselines are $100 ea
and all other seats (literally 1/4 to 1/3 of the arena) have NO maintenence...

So....if you are buying season tix now, it is highly unlikely you are going to even be able to land season tix in any of the sections that have a maintenence that's more than about $11 per ticket - so you are fairly fortunate.
I have very nice seats and give each year to support my alma mater so the "maintenence" is no big deal to me since I am giving that much already...

In the 15 years or so they've been doing the current plan for maintenence I have actually heard very few complaints.
Schools like U of I, UK, Duke, etc...require the guys who have the best seats to give upwards of $250K per year!!! The BU fans really don't know how good they have it!!

If you're going to support a private, non-football athletic program, you need to expect maintenance fees. It's the lifeblood of the program.

Unless things have changed.....there is no-maintenance fee on your 1st season, it starts on your renewal 2nd season and there after.....where I sit in the upper bowl its $50 per seat($100 for my pair), then you choose where dept. it goes to, so I just add $25 more ($125) and use the maintenance and a little to be in the Braves Club....pretty good deal if you ask me!

Congratulations FB on graduating from BU. Good luck to you!

Welcome to the "real world"! Gotta hope your BU degree will help you land a good job that allows you to start paying full price for the good stuff! In this case BU MBB Season Tickets in preferred locations at Carver!

A hint, if you work for a company who would match/partially match their employees' donations to BU, some of the season ticket maintenance fees you need to 'donate' to BU for supporting their education mission could be paid for by your company! Saves you some bucks out of your pocket!

                A win-win...

Or, if you don't care where you sit, you could have a friend that is still in school buy you student season tickets for $30 That will save you maintenance for another year, too.
