What part of illegal don't you understand?

Besides.......I did say "or anyone else". That pretty much includes ANY opponent.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Hypothetical question, would you rather have two home games vs Tulsa in a smaller arena or one home game at Carver and two road games? We get two home games in 2008 and my money says we win the CBI instead of finishing second.Return to Glory

When it comes to men's basketball, I really don't see any reason to have anything other than exhibition games at the new arena.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

I see no use in getting all uppitty about this until you find out that, 1.) they are actually scheduling a reg. season game there and/or 2.) you find yourself on game day without a ticket.
I still don't mind if they schedule a game there I guess...think it would be a cool change of pace and I believe the sellout crowd(s) (sitting right on top of the court) would be awesome (and really loud).
If I don't get a ticket, I'll be that much more ready the next time they play there.
Y'know, something that hadn't been mentioned is that the band will probably take up a section of seats. I dunno how many kids are in the band - or if they'd all be asked to play if we actually do play a game at the new arena - but I think its safe to say they'd probably take up atleast 50 seats.

Id be sick if I didn't get a ticket..........only missed 2 home games since '86......I hate to miss them....Im sure others feel the same way. I don't donate large amounts of $ to the University (would if I could), but I don't miss home games...go to 3-4 road games/year and don't miss the tourney. "Obsessed" with BU basketball would be a good word....Now there may be 5000+ people like me who could get shut out of any game played at the new arena.
I think the diehards will find a way to get there, but its tough if you have to go stand in line for a ticket all day when you have to work everyday. I wonder how BU will sell tix for this game...I assume they would probably not take phone orders for such a game. Its gonna all depend on how many of the people who just go to drink beer, and how many of the "corporate" ticket holders pursue a ticket for a game at the new arena...that may weed out a few.DUBL R 1

I think this is a great way to creat a buzz/interest whatever to sell those licenses. This building was built to be used, not to sit ideally. It was also built to generate (hopefully) revenue from Womans Basketball and maybe gain some interest in Womans Volleyball.
What is the best way to sell those licenses? Put something that 11k are willing to go and watch in Peoria... Mens Basketball.
Lets be honest even if BU played a Mens game in the new arena and everyone was upset... how many actually would just flat out stop going to the other home games that season and how many would actually not renew or want season tickets? Maybe a few, maybe alot but enough to make a difference, doubtful.
Those who can afford the licenses will continue to give the money to the University, those who can afford the season tickets without giving huge amounts will continue to buy the season tickets, and if they dont someone else will.
And BU if they win games will continue to fill Carver arena with 10K plus even if they play one single game on campus.
The school needs to move those licenses and I bet those who promise to buy those license are very interested in a men game. Sorry but money is going to win out over everything else.
And I am willing to bet and I believe BU is too that even if they move a game to campus and you cant attend you still will buy the season tickets and you will still follow BU.
It may not be right but lots of things are not right, but making use of that arena and making revenue is going to trump right everytime.

All that being said.....I think the game at the new arena would be a blast..fun..its packed...but everyone knew going in it wasn't reasonable to play there with the fan support we have...its just too small...no matter who we play we...we could play St Marks 8th grade team and draw more than 4200. We(BU) should have tried to go bigger or accept what we have....cant have both really.....and I know that going bigger wasn't feasible for multiple reasons...this new arena is just going to tease everyone and make them long for a larger on campus arena even more....the women are lucky to have it, should be a great place for them to play. It really is too bad that the Men's team....who generates the vast majority of the $$ for BU doesn't get to play there......and if they do, many of the people who do support them all year every year won't get to see it live.DUBL R 1
