Rob Dye was as good a pure 1 guard as BU has had since Ive been watching Bradley Basketball.
He had very good ball handling skills, could make open shots, got to into the lane and could finish, played solid D, was physical and distributed the basketball.
1) Jim Les
2) Rob Dye
3) Sam
4) Anthony Manuel
5) Willie Scott
I always think of Rob Dye as the guy that made the biggest jump from his freshman to sophomore season since I've been watching BU basketball ('92). He went from a role player of 3.1 ppg, 1.4 rpg & 1.6 apg to the leader the following year with 12.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg & 3.2 apg.
He also got over 400 rebounds in his career and played through an injury his senior year.

I'd add Al Smith somewhere in your top 5, he was a terrific passer - bullet passes down the sides of the lane to Big Joe. I also think he was a pitcher at Bradley.
Wright graduated in '96, a season before Dye showed up. AP and Zobrist got 34 minutes a piece in their senior seasons. Dye got 15 minutes per game with fellow freshman Eric Roberson getting 19.
No, Billy Wright graduated in 1996 and Rob's first season was 1996-1997.
Dye started 6 games his freshman season, and came off the bench in the others. For most of the games that 96-97 season, Bradley started without a true point guard, and Coach Molinari switched the starting lineup around a lot. Starters were usually Anthony Parker, Aaron Zobrist, Adebayo Akinkunle, Kerry Burrell, and Eric Roberson, but Gavin Schairer started 14 games, Cameron Rigby started 9, Rob Dye started 6, Michael Collins started 6, and Ed Cage started 5.

I go back barely to Bobby Humbles, Im sure Al Smith was very good but I didnt see him. I just really thought Rob Dye was a very good all around basketball player.
Rob's career would have had a much better ending and Coach Mo's tenure may have taken a different turn had it not been for a very bad ankle sprain that Rob came back from too early his senior year. I would love to have seen what Rob could have done in a more open system.
