When Dillard becomes eligible in 2011-2012, he will not have a lock on earning playing time...Dayton is as loaded at both guard positions as any other team in the A-10...
Dayton landed a fine point guard in this fall's class, Juwan Staten, a 4-STAR prep school kid who is rated the 13th best PG in the nation in Class of 2010...and #49 overall nationally!
Dayton will also have one other transfer guard from the Missouri Valley, Josh Parker from Drake, and will also have newcomer Brandon Spearman, a top rated guard out of Chicago...as well as other really good SG's and CG's...
I'm guessing Alabama did not want him and Dayton was his best (only) option. This doesn't sound like a very good move for him...... I'd be surprised if he stays.
Kevin Dillard, a former Mr. Basketball in Illinois as a senior at Homewood-Flossmoor HS, and who played a couple seasons at SIU, is now a senior at Dayton. He is playing well for 2nd year head coach Archie Miller.
Last night in a win at Alabama, Dillard had 25 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. He is averaging 15.3 ppg
Former BU recruit Vee Sanford, who also transferred to Dayton from Georgetown, is now a junior and he is starting and having a good year. He scored 13 points last night, and is averaging 11.9 ppg.
