The team shouldn't need a video to get pumped up...they're playing a basketball game.

The video should be there to get the crowd pumped up. Yeah Yeah, you could say that the crowd should be pumped up too...and a lot of us do get pumped up before the games...but there are a lot of students and fair-weathers that need a little extra jolt of excitement to really get into it.

For that reason, I think rap is definitely not the way to go. Our, um, older and whiter crowd probably listens to rock.

I don't have any song suggestions...just thinking out loud I guess.

I guess its just me but I get fired up for each and every game and I only watch on the internet.

But when I went to every game I didnt need some video to get me ready for a game. Yes watching Alaska Anchorage was not going to get the blood flowing but for most games there was no need to have to have a "jolt" to get into a game.

A fairweather fan isnt going to get hyped off of a video either, the only thing that gets someone like that excited is winning.

And I really dont think for a player having some video or song playing gets them ready for a game. I really dont think many pay a whole lot of attention to what is playing or going on. Most should be excited when they are introduced, its during a game in the middle of the 2nd half where players need to have energy from the crowd and to feed off that energy.

Personally, I want a guy focused, calm and ready at tip, not out of his head going wild... energy tends to die when a guy is hyped after about 3 minutes. I want a mentally ready player at tip.

But if I were to have a deciding vote on the footage of a video, it is going to be nothing but great/exciting plays from BU basketball history with as much audio as possible.

If it wasn't for our, um, older and whiter crowd we wouldn't be talking about a video scoreboard.

I'm with Houston and Chico on this one! The fight song still gets me going and the focus would be where it should be on the players. This is college ball not the NBA or the WWE for that fact. I also believe that the fanatical students should have seats with "our, um, older and whiter crowd", to get them going throughout the game.

Students can always have a team, but no sense having one if others didn't pay to watch.

Chico - no need to get bent out of shape, pal - I was simply acknowledging the demographic make up of our crowd.

It wasn't meant to be a knock...and I'm not sure why you took it that way. I was actually trying to say we should give the crowd more of what they want - not necessarily what the group of 13-15 college kids (on the team) want.

Crowd gets pumped up it won't matter to the team what song gets played pregame.

We all might be taking this intro video too seriously......

I do vote for HH sending a message to the crowd at the end.....like LB does to the ISU blue fans....their intro video gets me excited!

I dont post much but wow, I really had to comment on this one....

No sense in having a team if people dont pay to watch? Well we should rid of 90% of all other college sports, especially at the division 2 and 3 levels, sorry to thousands of student athletes in track, tennis, swimming, and volleyball that do it for the love of the game, theres just no sense in you performing.

I know that was extremely off topic, but the whole thing, no matter how you do it, with lights, a video, or with the fight song, is all directed to motivate players and fans accordingly; to perform and to get excited, respectively.

Now, Whether you want to do it like the 1990's bulls with the bulls running down the loop, with the theme song playing, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYFlzJyxWlw)
or, if you want to do it without utilizing technology the choice is yours.

Just remember that when you are the home team, you should use every spect of the game, even if it means giving away free beer to your opponents fans, to put the leverage on your side. That 1997 Bulls team went 72-10, maybe the intro heped them out with those back to back 39-2 home records, I dunno, maybe they would have only been 38-3 if the intro was lame, we dont know.

The fact of the matter is, I believe we should always utilize technology to make everything about the home-game experience better because it simply cannot hurt. I am all for tradition, (gotta love the cubbies), but look where organs have gotten them, where as on the southside, fireworks and a new park may have contributed to the 2005 world championship.(A stretch I know, but you can see what I am getting at!)

I remember my glody days of 6th grade basketball running around the court to the sound of "who let the dogs out" with the faithful wildcats banging on our balcony. Call me weird, crazy, or whatever, but I feel it was simply more fun.

Thank you! I'm glad some people are on the same page with me that these kids are actually here for more than our amusement, however inconvenient that may be. If you want a team to owe you something, watch pro sports. These guys are amateurs, and 18-22 yr olds, the purpose of everything the university does is (should be) to serve the students (those who are on the court and off).

Everything they do should be to provide a chance at a great education... not entertain them! These student athletes get a lot from their time on campus.. and the students have a much better chance of seeing a game than the average Peorian- and hardly any take advantage of it....
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

Wow how I disagree with your statement. It is about the whole college experience which #1 consists of the best education you can can get but the other aspects of a college experience consists of the social dynamics which the camaraderie of those sporting events can help cement. The question is are the students not taking advantage of the offering or is the experience perhaps not to their liking or not up to par of their expectations. Like I have said we have had our time and its up to them to have their experience as they see fit. We use to be able to have kegs in our Frats and now you can't even open a can with under age drinkers around??? Life is all about experiences and memories and just maybe the way we would like them to react is differently then we would but then again most things are a bit different.
