This is what I have been saying.

At this point if things go as planned, we have one scholarship this year and one next year. I would really like a guy like MO to be a big beefy guy down low, but I think getting a shooter ready for the year after next year is most important. Between JP, WE, AD, AT, MK, TB, SH the next few year we should be able to develop one of them into a "big banger" type. I'm hoping JP will eventually be this. So if we don't end up with MO, I think a shooter should be our first priority for this year. If we do end up with MO then I think we need to try and get a shooter that will be able to step in day 1 the following year.

Like I said I still want MO too, but I really think we need a sharp shooter with one of the 2 scholies reamining over the next two seasons so I'm torn because it will be tough to find one that can step in day 1 if we wait til next year to get one. I'm sure JL will figure it out.

I am afraid if we don"t have a center that can defend and rebound next season that we will be looking for a new coach .

        That's what I'm thinking too.
No chance we make the Big Dance giving up so many 2nd chance points and letting the Bigs get such good looks. A guy like MO may not make a huge difference in games next year, but at least in practice, he would be good to toughen up JP and WE and prepare them for in-game battle.

Although I see your point DC, of those three the only player who arrived with the rep as a "shooter" was AW, the other two were known as "scorers". Both have improved their strokes to the point where we consider them both shooters. I think that both DSE & JE have the capabilities to become those types of players. Strange part is that AW kinda became more of a scorer last year than a perimeter shooter. Would love to find a 6'5" JC clone & if he had a little bit more athleticism all the better.

I guess my point is that we really don't know how good MO is? We really haven't seen MO. I think that JP will contribute this year and dare I say we can go big with JP and either AD or WE in the lineup at the same time.

I agree with you about JP contributing this year and Benni, you are a man after my heart with playing BIG

MO fits the description of the player I am looking for. Strong inside player, I don't care if he is really tall (7') We need a strong inside defender and rebounder. He may not be the guy, but I think he would be. I will admit I thought Rashad Austin would be that guy, but I want a strong inside player.

No, just my feeling and I'm sure he does not want to give up a year to transfer. His only alternative would be going to a lower division. If you can't crack playing time at the 4-5 you have no one to blame but yourself. Playing time was there to be had.

I think the coaching staff has a tough decision to make. If they really believe MO will be a "player" in the Vally as a big from a skills standpoint.. you have to take him.

I only know what I've read here about him. But he is older and more physically mature than the other bigs on the team. From that aspect he should be more ready to step in right away and contribute.

Everything I have read about the Illinois class of 2011 calls it very talented & deep.. but thin when it comes to bigs. That adds more value to MO in my estimation.. fewer bigs to go around next year and more wings and guards to go after.

But if the coaches think MO is just a guy with size and minimal skills.. then now is the time you try and address the upcoming need for that athletic 6'5" or a shooting wing player.

I have not heard anything about him leaving and school has been out for awhile, most generally we hear about someone not coming back before they leave for summer as they usually begin workouts mid June.

Not at all. I think AT knows if he works he can play here, and that transfering now would cost him a lot.

I just hope he progresses. If we have WE JP AD and possibly MO....when he couldn't play over SS.....I hope he makes strides.

If BU still has an opportunity for MO to come to Bradley, I think we have to get him. Bradley can never have too many big's. I think we all know what to expect from TB each game, where as the rest of the frontcourt is unproven so far (excluding AW). Yes, WE will/should start but is he playing as a 4 or 5 ?. That will determine his production each game. I think WE would excel as a 4, hope to find out someday...That leaves AT,MK,JP and AD ( without MO ), as the remaining frontcourt players and none have any or much playing experience coming into next season, so the more big men BU can get, the better I think. If JL does not get another big, then I would like to see a sharp shooter guard come in for the last scholarship this year.
