Then blame the media. I suppose everyone across the nation that has a problem with it will not be watching ESPN or visiting their website again? In fact, they should probably burn their ESPN magazines. His last meeting was on Saturday and he announced his decision on Thursday. When was Wade's last meeting and when did he announce his decision? Friday and Wednesday maybe?

I'm just saying that I have more respect for LeBron than I do for their joke of an owner that is/was obviously completely dependent on one player!

I've heard more than one person say he took the easy way out. This is in response to the way he made the decision? I was taking those comments as being in direct relation to the actual decision itself. Again, the easy way out (and the norm for pro athletes) would have been staying in Cleveland or going to NY and collecting more money!

You're obviously misunderstanding the whole situation. People are unhappy with the way he made the decision and not the actual decision to go to Miami.

Besides, that's not his right to do such a thing at the end of his contract if another owner is willing/able to pull it off?

Blame the media. Convenient. Who orchestrated this circus, and who could have put a stop to it?

As Jim Gray has told it, it was his idea to make LeBron James' free agent plan an hour special. He took the idea to James' marketing agent Maverick Carter of LRMR, who then worked with William Morris Endeavor to put the package together in front of ESPN executives.

I didn't see Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, or even Kevin Durant do anything remotely close to this.

The owner is a bit slimey. But he was right about one thing ... LeBron did quit on his team in this year's playoffs.

                  • I hope everyone just caught Stuart Scott's response on ESPN. He said he has a problem with the way the city of Cleveland handled their reaction and he has a severe problem with their owner's response. He also said a player is not obligated to stay someplace just because he's been there before he honored his contract and became a free agent.

Of course he did. He's LBJ's friend. Stuart Scott has always been the voice of reason, like the time when he said calling a woman a 'ho' is a term of endearment, then immediately backtracked.

                      Smart guy that Stuart.

Just trying to figure out which it is......are they unhappy with him taking "the easy way out" and choosing Miami.......or is the nation unhappy with the way he made his decision? I think I know where the disconnect is.

Why would national writers care where he went? If you can't figure it out I don't know what to tell ya.

Seriously...are you really putting other players the Cavs traded on the same level as Lebron James? Come on. That's silly and you know it.
Id like to ask Gilbert where was this passion, accusations and finger pointing was right after the loses to Boston and Orlando?

Also, was this letter going to be offered if James resigned?

It is nothing but sour grapes and sounds like a spoiled man who didnt get what he wanted. If he felt this way, why wait until the day James leaves to make your voice heard?

But alas it is a players league and Mr Gilbert is just living and paying in it. His letter is clear that him and all others owners etc are nothing but enablers for these over priced children running around in shorts. If you got something to say say it and mean it and say it when it happens not way way after the fact and after you dont get what you wanted.
