DV Still Scouting?

Although it looks like the post on the above was quickly removed for whatever reason, here's some food for thought---

While DV cannot recruit for BU in his present status outside of the BU staff, I believe he could scout and recruit if he were hired by BU as a "Recruiting Coordinator" on the BB staff.

Dick is a fantastic talent evaluator and recruiter and if he and BU could get together on this, it could be a big plus for the BB program. Just a thought!

Only the head coach and the 3 NCAA-allowed assistants can recruit. That is defined by the NCAA.
The only "recruiting coordinator" a team can have is one of the coaches. Dick would have to be hired as a full-time assistant to do any recruiting for Bradley. He's free to follow high school basketball and convery his thoughts to the coaches, and I am sure every D1 coach has people who do this. But he cannot recruit for Bradley or any school.

Oh then JC can't even recruit as DBO? Can he at least talk to potential recruits or no, because it would seem a former playing talking to them would be a nice thing for potential recruits. I mean players would have to meet the whole staff wouldn't they?

I don't know all the NCAA rules, but I am sure JC can talk to recruits if they are visiting on-campus, and can show them around. But on-campus visits, or visits to Bradley games would be the only place he could talk to a recruit. I don't think he can't initiate contact, call recruits or leave campus to visit or watch recruits.

Who says he can't be scouting for a pro team. What's wrong with saying he is scouting? If someone said for BU that would be just incorrect. Am I missing something?

There are enough people who would love to try to get Bradley in trouble with the NCAA. We've seen many previous examples. Bradley will stay as far away from even the appearance of impropriety as possible.
