That is what I am hearing now from a few of you. I wish we had a tougher non con but I'm sure JL did all he could under the circumstance. I'm done with discussing ISU's cupcake schedule as well.

Play the best and let the cards fall from there.
Agreed. friend To me, theres nothing worst then scheduling a bunch of cup cakes, beating the hell out of them and getting nothing out of it but a uncredited W Or worst we get beet a couple games or more because our players don't get up for the games and then our scheduling hurts us down the road at the deciding point (maybe) at tournament time I am not saying we need to schedule to get our ass's kicked every game by scheduling all unwinable games as visitors but rather, a good balance schedule that meets your teams development needs. Playing the best may not always help your W's and L's record but it surly will add to your teams learning, player/team development, recruiting and team attitude

    • Since college bb is all about recruiting, it would be interesting to know what potential recruits value more:

-opportunity to play against name teams with possibility it lowers opportunity of post season opportunity as at large team

-increase, but not guarantee, opportunity to play in post season as at large team by going undefeated vs lots of cupcakes on the schedule

If the Jank scheduling approach drives more quality recruits than a fan's scheduling approach, Jank would achieve success in the long run by getting better recruits, improving the team and its ability to play stronger opponents in the future.

        • Hopefully we'll get at least 1 more game before the non-conf. schedule is set.
We only have 9 before the Valley season begins.

          • If Loyola Marymount isn't part of the HOF Tipoff tourney, we're done, right?

            Comment

            • Chances are LMU is part of the tourney.

Judging from a number of schedules in the past, not all schools list the prelims as part of the tourney, yet they technically are.

Also, it is likely BU can adopt an extra game and claim it for the tourney.

I have seen schools in the past be allowed to claim random games as tourney "counters". . .where that gets tricky however is that has usually been a non-DI. BU could not claim a game vs a team that might be participating in a different tournament, for instance.

Not to mention four games in six days!

We may be very tired when we get back to play EIU.

                        - Nov. 16. That's the night before the Braves' home contest vs. Loyola

With our depth, I don't see this as a problem. We just gotta' be ready to go and treat our exhibition like the real thing - get tougher in practices too!
Hopefully, we'll get a game before Nov. 16th to tune-up for the 4 games in 6 days.
I'm not liking that there's just 1 game (vs. Jackson St.) over a 20-day span though.

Best case - we get a game Nov. 12th or 13th and then another between Dec. 11th and Dec. 28th (or when Valley season begins).

Remember - this season - NO EXCUSES!

                          • It's almost like we are getting our team ready for a tournament at the end of the season where we would (hopefully) win 3 games in 3 days

You would like to play yourself to that level and not have to peak to soon. These are 18-21 year olds not NBA veterans. I'm sure the staff will do all they can do to minimize the impact but it would be much better if these games were spread out. Here's to hoping that we have players that can finish a game early so the bench can play sizable minutes.
