  • Who are the Braves starting 5?

With-out seeing the team play yet..............who do the fine posters think will be the starting 5?

    DR
    WF
    JJ
    DA
    ZA

I see this year as being heavy on the guard spot with a lot of help from JC..MS...SJ and AW...........and having not seen the last 3 play I really do not know what to expect from them yet?

Depth and tired legs could be a problem. However, we're a veteran team. Veteran teams are more likely to be able to withstand the rigors than a team of freshmen who may hit the wall (as we did in '04-'05). If we can find a rotation that's 7-8 deep, tired legs won't be a problem like they were a few years ago.

            Big Mike -

There was a thread earlier this year regarding starting 5, 6th man and leading scorer.

            I said:

            "1 Ruff
            2/3 Franklin
            2/3 JJ
            4 Salley
            5 Zach

            6 Crouch

            Hi Scorer - Franklin"

Here's the thread, only to see how some mind's have changed (since this started before RB went up in smoke):

I would say the starting would be

              Ruff
              Will
              JJ
              Salley
              Andrews

First off the bench would be Danny Adams and the next would be Crouch or Jassey depends on witch one can play better defense. But you never know how good Andrew Warren will be he could be coming off the bench a lot to.

We're 0 for 2 as far as kids from Richfield, Minnesota goes. Not good.

It's a major blow to a program when you lose one guy you were going to depend on. Losing two in one summer is almost impossible to recover from.

Agreed. I believe this will be the starting 5 to start the season.

If you count POB, we actually lost 3 underclassmen before the season started.

I'm not considering POB. His departure was expected, so I treat that more like someone graduating. I'm talking unexpected losses to things like grades, drugs, discipline, etc. You don't plan for those issues and usually have little or no time to replace these kids. The Richfield boys have basically left BU down 2 players heading into the season. BU is now at a point where it has ZERO margin for error regarding personnel thanks to them.

Has anyone heard what the time frame is on SS? Will he be able to practice right away or will he have to wait for the Valley schedule healing wise?
