  • Michael Beasley being dumped by Miami?

"...the Heat has soured on Michael Beasley's slow growth and lack of defense,
and tried to move the former second overall pick before this year's trade deadline.

Pat Riley will again look to deal Beasley this off-season in order to give the Heat more salary cap flexibility.
...Shedding Beasley's $5 million contract could open up enough cap space for Miami to pursue
    a third frontline free agent"

Something doesn't add up here..it's the NBA- they never play defense right??
If I recall, Beasley's had his share of off the court encounters..
Maybe the whole Roethlisberger situation in the NFL is catching on in all the leagues. You definitely saw the NFL draft looking at character more (Tebow at 25??) So maybe this is just the new thing teams look at besides just the on the court talent.
Hopefully that is the case and we might end up with less diva athletes that just need their cash and SC highlights to get some more endorsements.

in yet the next chapter of "How the best player in the nation can destroy his entire career"

Michael Beasley, Miami's top pick in 2008 appears to have ticked off the Heat's brass so sufficiently, that they are trying THIS HARD to get rid of him ...

They tried to peddle Michael Beasley to the most desperate team in the league, the New Jersey Nets...and all they were asking was a straight up trade to NJ for one of their players - Keyon Dooling

And here's the clincher -- New Jersey said NO - they'd rather keep Dooling!!
      LOL.......

Could Beasley be that bad or are they trying to light a fire under his a$$?
If he can't get himself together for Riley then who could?

          The reason Miami dumped Beasley..
Evidently Michael Beasley, the overall No. 2 pick in 2008, burned bridges in Miami because he burned too much leaf. Beasley was traded to Minnesota a few weeks ago and Timberwolves general manager David Kahn said the 6-10 forward struggled because he "smoked too much marijuana."

I agree with the Minnesota GM. When you can pick up a player of his potential for 2 second round picks (which rarely if ever make a team) that IS a steal..... Even if he "burns" out.
