Since the NBA instituted the rule 3 years ago requiring high school players to spend 1 year out of high school before they are eligibile for the NBA, it has produced more Freshman 1st team All-Americans in the last 3 years (6), than there were in all prior seasons since freshmen became eligible in 1972-73 (2).

Here is CollegeInsider.com's list of Freshmen All-Americans- there are some pretty good players, including several who have entered the NBA draft. ote a couple from mid-majors like D.J. Cooper of Ohio, and Derek Needham of Fairfield.
