Wichita is an 18 seed?
Illinois a 14 seed?
Iowa State even in it at all at a 17 seed? How can Wichita be below Iowa St?

Looks like 3 Valley teams: UNI-9 seed WSU-18 seed MSU-19 seed, none getting a bye. Guess this is why Joe sticks to basing it off current resumes rather than predicting things.

I can tell Joe sorta mailed this in, but I'll be ****ed if anyone can have any reasonable predictions for next year.

The fun projection there is that 12 ACC teams made the field.

.500 or better overall and your a dancin' in the BCS world of 96 teams.

This last season BC and Virginia were 15-16 and likely in a 96 team tourney would be bubble.

I know getting in the tournament is supposed to be about the teams resume, but the MVC was 7th best league. I still don't understand how we only got one team in and if it went to 96, I would be upset not to see at least 4 every year.

Let's get a football team now, then I can root for them instead of my sorry @$$ Rams. I would also think Lacross could be a good fit for BU. i know out here in Cincinnati, at least in the Northern suburbs here, it's probably #2 sport with young kids, right behind soccer. I would say football and basketball are no looking more like a distant 3 & 4 with baseball completely non-existent for the most part.

Just doing a quick count, it looks like there are eight non-BCS conferences with multiple bids, as follows:

A-10: 6
MWC: 4
CUSA: 4
MVC: 3
Horizon: 2
CAA: 2
WCC: 2
MAC: 2

This totals up to 25 bids. Add the remaining 17 one bid conferences, and that gives the new expanded tournament 42 non-BCS bids, only 6 of which earn first round byes.

Not a huge increase in non-BCS multiple bids, but it does give the most highly regarded non-BCS conferences a good shot for some additional bids. Just not as many as some hoped especially with 12 bids out of 12 coming out of the ACC!

That won't happen though as I'm sure there usually is one or two teams that will finish under .500 in most years.

Well as of now, I'd say those 3 teams in no particular order have to be the favorites to be 1-3 next season. Creighton, BU, and ISU Blue may not be far behind either. Should be an exciting conference race next year with no likely runaway winner like we saw this season.
