Does anyone know if there are more guys transferring now days then in years, decades past? Transfers use to be a big deal as I remember correctly. Someone has to have those stats handy around here!

Transfers are definitely up, especialy the last few years. Kids today expect to play immediately, and are unhappy if they don't. In the past, kids understood that it might take a couple years to get significant playing time. Also, there are more coaching changes which leads to more transfers.
I'm sure there are other factors, but the repeal of the 5/8 rule (2007?) is probably the biggest. That rule change allows a school like Indiana or Kentucky to bring in as many kids as they can in one year. It was done to allow programs rebuild more quickly.
When the rule was in place it helped contribute to the mid-major breakout year in 2006 because it limited the number of scholarships available at higher levels, and so better talent filtered down to the MVC-CAA-Butler level.
I would still love to have Marshall Henderson. A couple things concern me reading up about him though. First he said he wants to be closer to home. Second even before he transfered a bunch of people complain about his attitude. He was suspended for punching an opponent. When he left he said he thought the system at Utah kept him from showing his game. (Team player?) I still think I would love to have him, but he may have some flaws.
I wouldn't say he "punched" the opponent like all out. But sometimes a guy with fire that won't back down is good. You wouldn't want a whole team of them, but one or two guys is good to have sometimes.
Big rumor is emerging over on a few other message boards that UNC's Tyler Zeller will be leaving North Carolina and transfer to Indiana...and maybe his younger brother will become a Hoosier as well........interesting.....hafta wait & see......

I heard that same rumor from a friend who's kid goes to NC a few weeks ago. I thought since nothing had happened, it was just that, a rumor.

maybe a little interest...but he's been injured a lot and has never shown much...and of course couldn't play until 2011...
now Dunigan is a different story.....
He got some looks by Bradley when he was playing at Hales Franciscan HS in Chicago. But I have no idea if he would be interested in Bradley. I suspect JL might be interested in him. We'd probably prefer a transfer with 3 years to play, rather than 2, but I do expect BU to get a transfer if there is an unused scholarship.
