Alvin Brooks, his dad, was hired as an assistant coach at University of Houston. If the top thing is what you are referencing.

If it is the reference to Alvin Brooks returning to coach at the University of Houston, I think it is talking about Alvin Brooks III's father, AB Jr.

I would be surprised if U of H brought in a guy who at one time was their head coach as an assistant. But he did serve as an assistant to Dickey at Texas Tech, so who knows.

Congratulations to Alvin Brooks. He has been out of coaching since leaving the Kentucky staff 1 year ago when Billy Gillispie left.
