Gotta wonder how many are in line ahead of Wilkins...most are kind of obscure...

    1. Brandon Young - PG from Baltimore. He is friends with Creek and Oladipo. Averaged 15 PPG and nearly 10 APG this year. Big guard. 6'3". IU has been in contact. Creek is recruiting him.

    2. Cody Larson - 6'9" 225 PF.Former Iowa commit. IU staff met with him on Sunday.

    3. Dwight McCombs - 6'8" 240 Center. #4 overall Juco player in the country. IU is one of the final four teams he is listing. Averaged 23 PPG, 13 RPG and 5 BPG

    4. Will Yeguete - 6'7" PF. Looks to most likely be headed to Florida. The staff doesn't seem to be recruiting him any longer

    5. John Wilkins - 6'9" PF from France. Not much is known about him since he hasn't played competitive basketball in nearly 2 years. IU is likely in his top 3. His dad would like to see him end up at IU. Rumors are that Bradley and Iowa State are strong.

    6. Beas Hamga - 7'0" 230. The staff was in Texas to see him a couple weeks ago. Has had a troubled basketball career due to things out of his control. There are no stats available for his season at Weatherford Juco this year.

    7. Carson Desrosiers - 6'11", 220. Is a current Wake Forest commit. IU has been in contact with his high school coach to express their interest if he were to decommit and be released from his LOI. He is an extreme longshot unless IU were to be fortunate enough to hire Wake assistant, Jeff Battle as the 3rd assistant.

    8. Maurice Walker - 6'10" 280. IU is expressing late interest. Rumors he committed to Minnesota are false. Pitt really wants him, but has no scholarships.

    9. Moses Abraham - 6'9" 230. Has only been in the country since Thanksgiving. Committed to Georgetown about 2 weeks ago. Told reporters at the Derby Classic that he is still in contact with the IU staff and he may change his mind. Basically this recruitment has been a circus.

    10. Goodwin Okonji - 6'8" 230 Plays at Findlay Prep. Was a glue guy. Averaged around 9 PPG and 8 RPG. Is picking up late interest from a lot of programs. Still raw offensively.

    11. Ben Mills - 6'11" C. Recent decommit. Staff may have interest. He has been on the IU campus before for an Elite Camp.

    12. Kevin Noreen - 6'9" PF Was committed to BC and may ask out of his LOI due to coaching change. Was Minnesota's Mr Basketball averaging some really gaudy numbers. 37 PPG and 16 RPG. Plays in the smallest class in Minnesota.

    13. Moussa Gueye - 7'0" Verbal to Valpo but is having second thoughts. IU has been in contact. So has Illinois, Mizzou, Xavier, Butler, Southern Cal and Alabama. Averaged 10 PPG and 8 RPG at Juco
What article is that from?? Is it recent? I like hearing the Bradley is strong!! Of Course it says Iowa St. is strong too, and I haven't heard anything about them recently. At least I assume its an article, since it says "not much is known" about JW and you wouldn't get that from a Bradley fan.

BU has to make smart business decisions (being a private university), owning a sub-standard arena when there are better around in the same city isn't smart. See Redbird Arena v. US Colliseum et. al. It's not like ILSU needs the extra 2000 seats...

          • With its amazing academics there should be all kinds of rich alumni waiting to make big donations for a basketball facility shouldnt there.

            Comment

            • ILSU Endowment $60.6 million
              BU Endowment $178.7 million

ILSU graduates roughly 4 x as many people a year as BU and BU's endowment is 3x bigger. On average BU grads donate 12x as much as ILSU grads... Haha, all in good fun man.

it is not necessarily gospel, but based on an accumulation of other internet recruiting reports,
But I think it's a pretty good look at who IU is looking at because Tom Crean seems to really like
word of all his recruiting work to get known widely -- apparently he believes it helps him by making
the kids know they are appreciated to get their names out there...
In fact Crean even tweets and uses subtle hints about specific recruits...

so to answer your question, it was posted at 12:41PM just today - about an hour and a half ago...

There is also now a premium update that also lists this kid...but he is listed elsewhere as 7-ft and 190lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We do have brand new 1st class, state of the art sports facilities that will be ready for next year's team to use! Carver Arena really is a nice facility that packs it in night in and night out. The only reason I see that you may head to ISU would be because you do not care about your academic potential and you prefer to float on by. BU offers every student a 1st tier, top flight education and to many there is a value to that. Sorry GoBirds you can go to another board and argue your case but when it come to an overall package ISU lags way behind.

                  • You guys need a little less tension around here. I think any college is great so I am not here looking to downgrade any institution. Just some funny remarks nothing serious. Nobodys ever going to agree which college or player is better off, especially Bradley fans and ISU fans.

Hey man, I was just messing around, jabbin' back at ya. Sorry if that wasn't apparent in my posts.

                      • Funny thing as you get older you see more clearly the implications of the choices you made while young. I'm not saying if you have the will power and drive that you cannot overcome bad choices but much better to start off with a solid foundation. That is just life!

Exactly. It's unfortunate when a program tries to look better by down grading another program.

Maybe we need to keep in mind that BU hasn't had a top 3 conference finish since 2001 when the Braves tied ISU for 2nd. The Braves do not have a regular season conference title since 1996 or a conference tournament title since 1988. Let's get that changed!

OK, we were responding in jest to post made against our school.

It's unfortunate when others make assumptions and use something like this to promote an agenda when it has nothing to do with the topic whatsoever.

                              • In a recruiting coup, I think BU should immediately induct John Wilkins into its basketball Hall of Fame and hang his retired jersey in Carver NOW.

Kind of like Obama getting the Nobel Peace prize....

PS As suggested before, BU alumni association should raise money to buy Carver from Peoria and then lease it back to groups wanting to use it when BU doesn't need it...Think BIG
