We should raise the Belgium flag and sing the Belgium National Anthem before every game before the American National Anthem.
"How do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal, and you have to be willing to work for it." - Jim Valvano
Off the subject for a minute
Any one ever seen the movie Soul Man with Bernie Mac and Samuel Jackson This is my first time, it's taring me up and I have never heard so many M F's in my life This number maybe small compared to BU fans if JW picks isu It's just to much for me My gut is killing me

In a recruiting coup, I think BU should immediately induct John Wilkins into its basketball Hall of Fame and hang his retired jersey in Carver NOW.
Kind of like Obama getting the Nobel Peace prize....
PS As suggested before, BU alumni association should raise money to buy Carver from Peoria and then lease it back to groups wanting to use it when BU doesn't need it...Think BIG
LMAO with the Obama reference. Buying Carver would solve a few problems but in earnest does it make money overall?

It does not "make money", so buying Carver is not a viable solution
While I believe we certainly need our own facility--we clearly need an arena ON campus--(not a downtown ice rink that has crappy little restroom facilities and temporary seats that act like rocking chairs)

This has been discussed many times, but that is no longer and never will be feasible unless Bradley Basketball's popularity falls dramatically. Very few schools our size have a stadium anywhere near as nice as we do, and even fewer own them. And please spare me the Cameron Indoor argument (which is too small anyway).
From everything I have heard I would be happy w/ JW coming to BU but does anyone know how good he really is? We are getting our shorts in a big uproar over him coming or not but this guy hasn't played in 2 years and has never played a college game.
Do we know he is a banger on the inside or is he going to hang around the perimeter and want to shoot 3's all day? Can he rebound (a big necessity for us)? Is he willing to be physical on the inside? Is he going to be a Cellus or better or will he be a POB and ride 5 good games to an NBA contract?
I am not ripping on him but these are questions I have had about JW and more so the longer he doesn't play. He may be really great but may also be a bust. Look at the players over the last couple of years that have gone to other schools (talking Mid Majors here) that we thought we really missed on and are hardly producing at their present school and, because of that, we ended up w/ TW & CR and even TB.
My point is lets not get in a panic but lets wait and see what players they can come up w/ and if JW is one of them then great and lets hope he is a Cellus or better.

Wilkins is not an inside player...he is a skilled big guy that is more comfortable playing out on the perimeter...According to his JUCO coach, he is not a good rebounder and needs to add a lot of strength and toughness if he is going to be able to defend post players and rebound at the D-I level...
He is a skilled guy, though...and if/when he goes elsewhere, it will be a very unfortunate loss for BU...
My point is that only time will tell no matter where he goes. We have heard of many can't miss guys that missed. Being skilled in practice and making it count in a game are 2 very different things.
We have had players at BU that were all conf in practice but were below average and/or @ best average in games.
but can you "lose" what you NEVER HAD?
..and if you want to consider it a loss, then whose fault is it?
Is it not the fault of those in the NCAA who chose to ignore the numerous records that were submitted
and claim Wilkins (who wanted to go to BU) was not eligible to enroll under a D-I scholarship
because he came from a European school system that gave only pass-fail and not grades?
A virtually identical situation, Nikola Dragović, but the guy chose to go to UCLA, was cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse even tho he didn't have the full grade records and did NOT get a passing score on the SAT!!!
He had been deemed to have played THREE years on touring pro teams in Europe, but still received only a 10-game penalty for his professionalism connections, and is now a junior at UCLA.
Much of all this was kept very silent and blew by the NCAA quickly so Dragovic could play quickly with as short of a penalty as possible!

Yup, him ending up at ISU after committing to BU wouldn't affect us at all.

I guess it would depend on how good he turns out to be.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
