I'll give you this - he, Oscar Robertson and John Havlicek are still the only players in NBA history with 18,000+ points, 7,000+ rebounds and 6,000+ assists. Kobe will be there in a few years... and probably LeBron eventually.Don't putt until the cup stops movin'

That is not really fair. You aren't factoring in that he was over the age of 34 in all but 2 years of the non-MJ years(and i don't think you are counting 93-94/94-95?). Every forward-guard type in the league regresses around that time. I am sure Big O, Jerry West, etc. all showed a significant decline.
Also, stats don't take into account that he may have been the best defender of his generation, definitely as a forward.
And the DWI/gun things were both dropped due to lack of evidence. Maybe it was a favor to a famous athlete, or maybe it was a cop trying to get on the news.

As a matter of fact I don't think Jim Les was anything more than an average MVC-player that Hersey made look good. Without Hersey he averaged 6.3 ppg. With Hersey he averaged 12.1. Thats almost a 100% improvement. Hersey clearly just carried JL.
For the record, I am not a Bulls fan, nor a fan of any Chicago team, I even hate the Cubs with a passion.

Wow DC, "slightly better than average NBA talent", I know you didn't mean that. He's one of the all-time best. He was an attack beast, unstoppable, a true Bull rush. No one can tell any Bulls fan anything different.

There are quite a few people who think Pippen was overrated, and does not belong in the Top 50 players in NBA history.
I am not one of them. I think Pipppen does belong in the Top 50.
But I have probably seen more discussion about Pippen not belonging in the Top 50 than just about any other member of that group.

Scottie is definititely a Top 50 player, and a HOFer.
But he is a guy who would not have accomplished much of what he did without MJ. He owes a lot to MJ, as do a lot of players who made a lot of money in the NBA by playing with MJ.
If Scottie had stayed with the Seattle Supersonics (the team that drafted him), I wonder if we would be celebrating Olden Polynice's induction into the HOF?
