Here's the voting for the Coach of the Year that Jim Boeheim won...
Jim Boeheim is The Associated Press' college basketball coach of the year.

    ............................Votes
    Jim Boeheim Syracuse 39
    Frank Martin Kansas State 8
    Steve Alford New Mexico 4
    Bill Self Kansas 3
    John Calipari Kentucky 2
    Fran Dunphy Temple 2
    Mike Brey Notre Dame 1
    Jamie Dixon Pittsburgh 1
    Scott Drew Baylor 1
    Mike Krzyzewski Duke 1
    Rick Majerus Saint Louis 1
    Matt Painter Purdue 1
    Buzz Williams Marquette 1

I have no problem that some voted for guys like Martin, Alford, and even Cal...

but what does everyone else think about Mike Brey, Coach K, Matt Painter, Rick Majerus...getting votes??

--Mike Brey had one of the top scorers and rebounders, has solid 4-Star caliber talent, and yet in a relatively weak Big East this season, the guy finished in the middle of the pack, and even lost games AT HOME to teams like Marymount and St. John's
The real key to being a great coach, is that like Tom Izzo - even if your best player is out, you can still adjust and find a way to win games!
This was simply NOT the case with Mike Brey...

--Coach K has a deep, experienced team of 5-Star recruits...
OK - so he made it to the Final Four, but not because of exceptional coaching!

--I can handle votes for Matt Painter even tho his team wasn't the same after Hummel went down...
but Majerus?? Who is the guy giving a vote to Majerus??
Sure, I will admit Majerus did a fine job coaching and got the most out of a young team...but Coach of the Year? Someone picked Majerus ahead of guys like Boeheim & Martin?
When the going got tough down the stretch, SLU lost five of their final 10 games.
Of the top 100 teams they played (Pomeroy) they were 4-11!!!
I have to think it was some St. Louis writer that simply voted for his homie...

I would not have had Majerus in the top 20 votes. I can't believe anyone would vote him coach of the year.
