Not sure whether I like that or not, but I will say one thing...if he can get talent into Baylor (ie Waco) when its just a God awful town to begin with AND you have the closest thing to the death penalty hanging over your program, he should be able to recruit Chicago...

Baylor has a tremendous academic reputation and is in a decent conference. Texas also has been a pretty good recruiting area the last decade."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Note this comment...
"..when UTEP hired Tony Barbee, Athletic Director Bob Stull almost offered the job to Tim Jankovich.
Jankovich is the head coach at Illinois State, but has been an assistant at Texas and Kansas."

QUOTES from the new head coach at UTEP, Tim Floyd at his introductory press conference....
First - he makes basically the same promise all coaches make - to be successful, and "win it all":
"so we’ll be trying to put together a squad and a team that can go win it all.
Everybody might say that’s crazy, you can’t do that today. Tell Butler that
right now. Tell George Mason that four years ago. I know it can happen and I
know it can happen here."
On the reason he walked away from his last job at USC:
"I left a place because I didn’t feel support from that place, I didn’t feel an
appreciation for what we had accomplished"
Then one reporter asks for more specifics about what went on at USC...
Here's the question:
"..the way you left at USC, certainly the NCAA and USC, after rule violations, can you comment on that?"
(Answer) COACH FLOYD:
"USC self-sanctioned the basketball program over institutional control violations.
I don’t want anybody to be confused with my leaving USC as an admission of guilt.
I chose not to try my case in the media, like many other people try to do things in today’s time. I left because of lack of support.
I chose to have my case heard where it should have been heard, with the NCAA....
...I knew that I had done nothing wrong."
Then a question about his contract and salary which he sidesteps...and acts like the amount he's being paid is completely irrelevant!
(Question): "You joke about the money. has there been any contract talks yet?"
(Answer) COACH FLOYD:
"I don’t know where all that is. ..at this point those things aren’t as important
to me as coaching and teaching and getting to the floor and working with
players, scheduling games, preparing for games. to me that’s what it’s all
about. all that other stuff will work itself out."

I know you can't lump most of their schools into this assessment, but Conference USA seems to be the dirtiest of the mid-major conferences with some of their coaching hires! They seem to still believe they are a power conference, and will hire anyone and everyone with a dirty record.
I just hope UTEP doesn't turn into another program that will pay for their coaching hire down the line!
