  • Top unsigned recruit chooses Valparaiso!

Jay Harris - conasidered by some as the best unsigned recruit in Illinois' Class of 2010...
..was being hotly pursued by lots of schools......averaging 28 ppg,
Illinois State as well as well as lots of other schools - even BCS schools like Virginia Tech, Boston College wanted Harris...
Looks like he eliminated ISU earlier as he now says they were NOT among his finalists.......

    Late yesterday he chose Valparaiso...

Interesting...I had been told by an ISU insider that he was a lock for ISU. The same insider told me Phillip Jackson was also a lock for ISU (and he recently verballed to Nevada). But Jankovich was hotly pursuing both of them.

    Now he needs to qualify.

seems like he's not much of an ISU insider

I think his choices and selection would have been a lot different had he taken care of this little detail.

Yep its pretty well known this kids academics arent quite in complete order. Ilprepbullseye has been all over this in recent weeks. They basically claim ISU never even fully offered nor did Va Tech, due to his academics. Also many schools that were chasing him late have unclear scholly situations at the moment.

if you choose to buy what the bullseye boys say...given that half of all their entries are removed within a couple days when facts prove them wrong...
half of what they say or predict is wrong but then gets removed....so that they can claim they are right all the time..

already a couple of their recent entries on Jay Harris have been totally removed and don't exist any more because they were so incredibly wrong about who was pursuing the kid and who had offered.
They frequently claim to have known something long ago but cover their tracks on all their mistakes and boneheads by removing their incorrect entries...
I have little faith in anything they say, especially since 2/3 of everything they spout are chest-thumping boasts about their omniscience, and attacks against any other site they see as a threat...

Quite the opposite- he is as well connected an insider as anyone.
It just looks like Harris decided to pass on ISU in favor of Valpo.
I know that's too painful for ISU fans to believe, but it's true. Same goes for Jackson.

Im not saying they are right or wrong. I just dont think many of the schools being reported to be involved were as involved as thought. Trust me I was one ISU fan who wanted Harris I just dont think the coaches were quite as high. Harris also has made it clear all along he wants to play right away and pretty much told Illinois to beat it because of this. In the end good for Valpo glad he went there as opposed to one of the big boys.

hey - if I had all day and 100% of my time to call and travel and ask recruits and AAU people who's doing what, then I would hold
myself to a standard of needing to be right at least half the time....but some of the "gurus' aren't even close...
Heck - I think with just the part time and casual effort our people put into this, we are way more accurate and authoritative and
I have even had college coaches tell me they check BradleyFans for info and find it very informative!

Jay Harris has kinda come full circle....
he went to Valpo - didn't do bad but not as well as hoped and left...
then went to Wagner - but didn't finish out his career there and now leaves again - and now lands at UIC and is immediately eligible via the grad rule.
