    Here's something odd...I wonder what's going on...

Since freshmen became eligible to play college basketball in 1972, only TWO freshman were named
AP 1st Team All Americans...all the way up through 2006..ONLY TWO...
(Wayman Tisdale in 1983 & Chris Jackson in 1989)

Then suddenly it's happening almost every year -- in fact TWO each year in 2007, 2008, & 2009!

2007 - Kevin Durant Greg Oden
2008 - Michael Beasley Kevin Love
2010 - DeMarcus Cousins John Wall

    College basketball loves David Stern!

Probably since they couldn't go pro out of high school since 2005 or 06 I forget.....one and done in college.

Jim Les would like team2. OoB would like team 3. Tell me why there's no balance on these All-American teams. They should be made up of 2 G's, 2 F's and 1 C..... But they're not.

Just proves to everyone that basketball is a team game. Only one player that made the list is still playing. I'm sure whoever wins the National Championship will not care who was 1st team.

Luke Harangody was not one of the top 15 players in Division 1 basketball this season.

He missed 5 games, then in the 5 following he had one solid game a 20/10 v Seton Hall.

He absolutely did not show up v Old Dominion and did nothing v West Virginia in the Big East tourney.

He played very well before his injury but in the last 10 games of his teams season he was not good. If you are going to be on an All-American team it should be for the entire season not 3/4th of it.

I know he got hurt but I believe the award should be for a full season of contribution not part. Also his teams garbage non conference season also should be considered since he put up very good numbers all at home but one versus some extremely poor competition.

As well it seemed that the Irish played better without him! That is the only guy that I really question from the list. I'm not saying he could have had an All American year but he just did not.

                Wrong...

Both Scheyer and Butler made the team and meet in the Final 4 Sat night...

That being said, did everyone know that only once in the history of the tournament has a team won (Maryland in 02) that didn't have an AA on their roster...

So according to that large fact, Butler and Michigan State are out, and whoever wins the WVU/Duke game will be a big favorite Monday night...

Also, if I was able to pick and choose a team of 6 between these guys, I would choose these players:

                  Evan Turner
                  Wesley Johnson
                  Greg Monroe
                  Jon Scheyer
                  Da'Sean Butler
                  Greivis Vasquez

I think if Butler is in it Monday, they can control Scheyer but would have a harder time with Da'Sean Butler. My opionion

                      Agree completely...

I like that Scheyer lets things come to him, but I haven't seen many this year that can flat out take over a game like Butler this year...

Also, WVU's length could really bother Butler with that 1-3-1 matchup zone and switching into trapping man D...

The keys for that game would be turnovers to points off turnovers and free throw shooting as Butler is better in both areas, BUT they have not faced many with the caliber of all around talent West Virginia has...Syracuse had no inside game, KState no outside game after the 2OT game, and Xavier has no inside game...

3 players from WVU can beat them anywhere on the floor in Butler, Jones, and Ebanks....add to that Mazzula having confidence...

I honestly hope for this game just to see exactly how well Butler does match up...

That and they can already write the Champions headline The Butler Did It either way
