Chris Roberts Taking Highlight Show To Final Four

PEORIA, Ill. - High-flying guard Chris Roberts (Ft. Worth, Texas/Dunbar H.S.) will have a chance to add to his Bradley Basketball highlight reel: the 6-foot-4 senior has been selected as one of eight participants in the 22nd annual State Farm College Slam Dunk Championship Thursday night in Indianapolis.
The State Farm College Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championships will be contested Thursday from 7-9:30 p.m. (EDT) at Bracket Town, refreshed by Coca-Cola Zero, in the Indiana Convention Center as part of the Final Four events schedule. The competitions will be broadcast on ESPN on a tape-delay basis beginning at 9 p.m. (EDT). Tickets for the event may be purchased at the Lucas Oil Stadium box office and the Indiana Convention Center box office and are $25 for ages 12 and over and $15 for ages 3-11. The ticket prices include admission to Bracket Town.
One-time Bradley Basketball player Danny Granger, a 2009 NBA All-Star forward from the Indiana Pacers, is scheduled to serve as one of the celebrity judges for Thursday night's slam dunk contest.
Roberts becomes Bradley's second participant in the State Farm Slam Dunk Championship, following Lawrence Wright in 2006. Ironically, the 2006 Slam Dunk Championship also took place in Indianapolis.
Roberts has made four appearances on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays during his two-year Bradley career. Although his first appearance was in recognition of his 75-foot game-winner versus Oakland in the quarterfinals of the inaugural CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament March 23, 2009, his other three appearances highlighted his dunking talent. Most recently, Roberts earned the No. 2 play on the March 5, 2010 SportsCenter for his follow slam versus Creighton in the State Farm MVC Tournament quarterfinals, a play that gave the Braves the lead for good with 16:11 remaining and ignited Bradley's 81-62 victory versus the Bluejays.

That was Roberson that had "the dunk" vs Michigan, right? He just flew down the lane, over the entire Michigan squad (back when Michigan mattered) for a massive rebound slam. The local news replayed that dunk every night for the next week!

he dunked over 290 lb "Tractor Traylor" on a missed FT putback!

Also Theron Wilson & Zack Andrews both had some pretty good dunks too!

Great videos. I've never seen the video of Chris's shot from the bench side of the court. I was so *&^) off that the main camera operator didn't follow the shot and didn't know that this other angle existed. Awesome!!

Just saw the 2nd video of Chris's dunk highlights. One of the cool things about it was that they had some of the audio feed from the opposing teams' radio announcers with their reactions. Heh. Pretty much, "omg did he just do that to us?!"

I think some of Chris's greatest dunks came from flushing down missed shots. Wonder if Sammy could intentionally miss a free throw only to have Chris jump over him from behind the free throw line to grab the ball and dunk it.

...nah, probably best to save that one for the final round.

I bugged him about doing this a bunch the last 2 years lol. I even offered to assist....guess SM might be a little more skilled.

                        Good luck CR.

As they say here on the radio coverage of the Phoenix Suns, throw down some good "wham-bam-slams"

                        Nice pub for BU too!

That facial against the MSU player was my favorite. Anytime you can just jump over a guy and throw it down is insane!

Former Brave Danny Granger is a judge
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

By the way- a great job by Bobby Parker and the crew in putting together the Chris Roberts' ESPN Dunk Competition Entry Video.

Be sure to watch it until the 4:50 mark when they replay the shot with Dave Snell's radio call.

Sorry if this was mentioned- but in addition to Chris Roberts competing in the dunk contest, UNI's Ali Farokhmanesh will compete in the 3-point contest.
