  • CU/MSU playing tonight in CIT semis

I hadn't been paying attention to the CBI or CIT, but just noticed that Creighton and Missouri St. are playing each other tonight in the semis @MSU. MSU at 8 at half.

I find it very curious that Rhode Island is now going to MSG for the NIT semis when a team that finished 2 games ahead of them in league play (St. Louis) didn't even get a bid. It looks like they're going to the CBI finals, but still. How can the NIT consider itself any more credible than the CBI or CIT when things like that are happening? I know, I know, the NCAA runs it and doesn't care. Just sayin...

Looks like a team that finished 3 games behind the Billikins and lost to them twice may also be headed to MSG.

To be fair there, all computer rankings had those 2 teams ahead of St. Louis, and Rhode Island did slaughter St. Louis in their conference tourney. Dayton and Rhode Island's non-conference accomplishments were far better than St. Louis's as well. St. Louis probably should have been in the NIT though too.

To be fair, the A-10 has some pretty severe swings in its imbalanced conference schedule.

I'd seed URI ahead of St Louis too. And Dayton. But the Fightin' Majeruses missing the NIT completely was sorta kinda really stupid.

Yeah, when we're defending Majerus, you know something REALLY is wrong.

And how about Charlotte being passed over for the NIT as well?! They basically wanted no part of the CBI or CIT, but of course their coaching issues probably was the reason they passed on those. Maybe we would be looking at an all A-10 CBI final as well.

As it is, there's a shot at an all A-10 NIT final as well as St. Louis's shot at the CBI title. And of course who knows how far Xavier will go in the Big Dance.

Not a bad showing at all for a non-BCS conference!

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte and the NIT committee had a little chat about the coaching situation and the committee decided to "snub" them as a result.

Great job by Missouri St. once again.
                    MSU 67
                    CU 61
I think win one more win, they will be #1 in the nation in total home wins this season. Is that right? If they had held on vs. UNI in conference (lost by 1), they could actually win 20 home games this season - pretty impressive!
They will definitely be one of the contenders in the Valley next season.
If they learn to win on the road, I think they have the edge.
Kudos Cuanzo! Hope nobody pulls him away from MSU.
He is my second choice for Coach of the Year in the Valley.

Who do they play for the CIT title and where is the game?

Both make all the difference in the world...

You should be able to beat either team.
