A couple interesting developments...
First -- an insider says he knew before Kanter came to the US that he was already dealing through agents and obviously a PROFESSIONAL player in every sense of the word...
Kanter was even turned down by several US prep schools (who aren't exactly always on the up and up) simply because he had so much laundry proving professionalism...
Kanter (thru his agents) ..."mandates that he deal with “advisers”
(read agents) of European players looking to come over, handlers (read
runners for agents) of high school kids looking to choose the right Prep
school, college coaches looking to sign that talent, plus the kids themselves.
“He will never play a minute of college basketball, there’s absolutely no
chance…for a variety of reasons.”"
OK -- just to add more fuel to the debate about whether BIG TIME programs land the top recruits by paying them,
as has been alleged a few times, most recently in the Anthony Davis fiasco....
Top recruiting guru Evan Daniel just tweeted this....quoting a top assistant from a top big name program...
"High major college assistant: "If you're a big man
in the 2011 class...you can pretty much name your price."
(I suspect there's a chance this tweet might get deleted..)
