"He???‚¬?„?s made the decision to go to Nebraska,???‚¬?? Wysinger said late Tuesday morning. ???‚¬?“He pretty much made the decision (Monday) but I asked him to think about it overnight and we talked again this morning and he said he was sure it was Nebraska.???‚¬??

Ping enjoyed his trip to Oklahoma State this past weekend, but felt that Nebraska was the best fit for him, Wysinger said.

"One of the fastest rising players in the juco Class of 2007 has made his college choice. After a weekend visit to Oklahoma State, Illinois Central big man Shang Ping committed to Nebraska.

"He really felt very comfortable with Doc Sadler," said ICC coach Tony Wysinger. "All of his hard work has paid off. His goal is to play Division One basketball."

I am happy for him, I hope he gets some decent playing time.
With a new coach there, they are starting over and Ping comes in as a junior so he'll have a shot at some PT.

This might have affected Ping's decision, as this is the guy who would have been competing at Oklahoma State for the SF/PF spot.

Not really a Shang Ping topic, but maybe relevant.

A senior Chinese basketball official has now admitted that China has been cheating for years by
falsifying the ages of the kids who play on their various youth international teams.
If they are cheating here, then are they cheating in other ways on their Olympic teams?

"...China's basketball administration found that nearly half of provincial-level team players
competing at the national youth championships had faked their age.
            "
