...during the UNI game tonight. During the last few minutes I was on the edge of my seat screaming positively the good plays, and lamenting loudly the bad ones. And the Farohkmenesh shot...GUTS. And here's my thought...

They had to take a shot on that possession. Up 1, 48 seconds to go. So you figure they would wind the shot clock, and end up with a dribble penetration that might not lead to a great look. Or the KU pressure would have gotten them to turn it over...like the did many times down the stretch.

So you have a wide open 21 footer that Ali passed on originally...and then realized..."this is the best shot we're going to get. And an opportunity to beat the #1 ranked team. You take the shot".

I love that attitude. (Of course I would have hated it had he missed and UNI lost the game...)
